Well, VH opening night clips are hitting the web

As expected... He is usually more lost live than Ed is out of tune in that video.

I'm shocked that in a big time rock show that EVH would be THAT far out of tune. Something just doesn't add up if you ask me, but Ed sure does look uncomfortable at first...

I love some of the hilarious reasons given on the Metro board... "Hey... I know, the "Jump" keyboards must be in standard tuning and Ed is in E-flat. Yeah that must be it!" C'mon man - Dontcha think they mighta checked that during REHEARSAL? Why would they use a different tuning just for "Jump"?

I'm pretty sure that's right. Most of the songs they're playing, the original is a half-step down. Jump isn't. He was probably supposed to switch guitars and didn't. Tried to wing it, couldn't, and said fuck it...

That's my theory, and I'm sticking to it...

I have both shows and have listed thru them and I DO NOT recall this bad tuning in Jump!

Eating crow is something I have perfected over the years. The youtube thing sounded SO bad that I thought, there's no way he'd keep playing over an "already keyboard tracked" song outta tune that bad! He could've easily taking 10 seconds and grabbed another guitar...especially in this tune.
This is completely real as I just checked the recording I have...
I have three of the new shows and could NOT remember anything that sounded this bad, but it's right here!
