I personally hate the notion that Duncan tries to sell you that you need a vintage output, puny underwound neck pickup matched with your hot bridge pickup. I HATE the Jazz and the '59. On their own, they're fine. Matched with the Jazz Bridge or '59 Bridge, they're fine. But matched with anything from the JB and up, they're super weak, pilnky, and just don't keep up output-wise.

I won't say my favorite Strat neck because they're discontinued, hard to find and expensive.

Favorite neck pickup is the Duncan Jazz neck model SH2n. It's my go to neck humbucker and it's perfect in almost every guitar of mine that I've put it in, including Les Paul, Strats and SuperStrats. When I did repairs, the first pickup I usually suggested the Jazz neck model unless the client wanted a fatter tone. If they wanted fat or warm, I suggested the Duncan 59n or the Duncan APH-1. Another GREAT humbucker for the neck position is the DiMarzio Bluesbucker. Kinda P90ish. The split tone is amazing....it's Strat like with very little difference in output. Love it. It wasn't available back in my repair days. For an active humbucker...the EMG 60 hands down.
