What electric guitar picks are you using, what string gauge?

You pretty much have to color match with the Dava web site or that image I linked to to know what material each pick is made of. In order of increasing stiffness, it goes Nylon (yellow), Delrin (red), Poly Gel (transparent purple). The regular-sized, non-Jazz Grip Tips are overall softer than their Jazz counterparts of the same material (smaller = stiffer). I have every Dava pick except the Grip Tip Poly Gel, but I prefer the Delrin Jazz most of the time still, seems to be just the right stiffness for my style of playing, i.e. fast picking single notes and metal chugging. I used to play with the Jazz Nylon but can't seem to anymore, too soft and the sharper attack isn't there, I like my picks to do the work. The Jazz Poly is the stiffest pick Dava makes, so if you need even stiffer than that, it might not be the right one for you.

Oh yeah, 10-46 string gauge for me...

I am fully converted to the Petrucci Jazz III!

The are the perfect size, bigger than a regular Jazz 3, but not as cumbersome as a jazz 3 XL.

The are very a fast, glide of the strings so well. Have to be accurate with them though!

I use these things. They dull pretty fast as I am pretty tough on them. But...they have a nice feel and work nicely. I used to always use the yellow tortex ones before that.

Dunlop 88 tortex standard here, filed to a point. Once I've run out of the picks I already have I'll try some TIIIs and save myself 10 seconds.

Been using the green .88s for a number of years now. Sometimes I use the purple 1.14s when I want a more mellow attack.

I used to be a big fan of Jazz IIIs, and I think they made me a better player... But I find them too smooth with not enough attack. Although I can see why someone who shreds would like that.

I think I win for thinness .. mine are 0.3 metal picks

they rule

I was a die-hard Jazz 3 guy for years until February of this year. Before then, I used the regular Black Jazz 3 for a long time before switching to the ULTEX Jazz 3 for a little over a year. I found sometime after that that my picking hand had changed considerably and started wanting more plastic in my hand. So I just started screwing around with whatever was around the house. I found a tin of Slash collectors edition picks I got w/ his new album... So I tore the pack open and gave 'em a whirl. After thousands of hours of playing Jazz 3's it took 20 minutes to get comfortable w/ the Purple Tortex picks (1.14mm) and I've been a Purple Tortex guy ever since. Kind of like coming home because I started with the Yellow Tortex picks when I first started prior to using Jazz 3's... So that's that.

As far as strings go it's a similar deal. I've used D'Addario strings exclusively for a while now... I started off with a 9-42 gauge... Then found I always knocked chords out of tune because of my heavy picking hand. So I beefed it up to 10-46 which also improved my tone considerably... I found the bottom end still didn't feel quite right. So I went with a 10-52 gauge and that's what I'm using now. I actually wanna try out an 11-52 set once just to see what that'd be like at some point.... Later!

OK, thans, but I have some green ones. I am guessing they are delrin, but who knows?

I forgot to paste my string guage...oops...
For my Drop C# stuff I am using 11-49 D'addario.
For the F# material I am using the Ernie Ball 8 string packs, 10-74.
