i jsut received an A.R.T. X-12 from a friend for free...i dont think that phantom-power is possible witht his thing, but i'll try how this thing works tonight. :)

i don't know why...but i cannot save correctly a preset now....probably from when i replaced the midi chip to the herbert.

i'm using the nobels mf1 midi p-board and the rocktron xpression rack for effects.

i reset the xpression, put the herbert in omni mode and changed channel on the mf1 too....but with no result....something is comunicating in the wrong way...

do i have to assign the herbert a midi channel, the mf1 another and so with the mf1?
or everything in omni mode?

what to do?

thanx

Is anyone running the voodoo-lab ground control with a Herbert? How´s that working out?

solved..i forgot how to set up the xpression :)

I have two of the OLD Ground controls for my VH4 and VH4S. I think the larger ones are over kill unless you are running a lot of FX xt. I am simpleton and just have three pedals on top in the channel inserts and don't need many patches.

Hey man!

Yeah I figured that it´s only necessery if you run some FX. I have plans on buying some rackmounted FX, and since the Columbus is just 90€ cheaper I figured that maybe it´s just aswell to be "future compatible" you know?
The thing that´s making me doubt is that when you but anything Diezel you KNOW that the service is amazing if something would f*** up, and that it´s built like a tank! I have no experience with voodoo-lab but have heard good things....

I use an Engl Z12. Very reliable and heavy duty but needs to be modded to be used with Diezel amps.

If you are looking for an inexpensive solution I can recommend the Nobels MF-1.

Heyho,

why does the Z-12 need to be modded and where can i do this?
I'm using it with my newly 2nd hand bought herbert and already had problems with it.
By mistake I was disconnecting the power from the Z-12 while playing and suddenly the LEDs disappeared and the Sound said Goodbye. I don't know what it is, but when I'm turning the Herbert on the Tubes are working, but no LEDs and if switch the Run Button there is no Sound...

The Z12 and Diezel amps have a different midi pin assignment. That is what you have to mod. You can check the manuals for the assignment info. Easiest mod would be soldering a special midi cable that connects the correct pins. More difficult would be either modding the Z12 or Herbert. I bought my VH4 and Z12 used so the Z12 was already modded but I think any skilled tech could do this in a minute.

Oh, okay, thats good to know. Could this have been the reason for the problem with the Herbert?
I've brought it to my local guitar store right after it happened and they said their tech's will see what they can do.

Ah, but, the Engl Z-12 had its own power supply. It wasn't powered by the Herbert

I don't know if that could have cause the problem, but even if you have used a separate power supply for the Z12 the pins for phantom power are connected and I guess that's not the best thing.

Tried al lot of them midi controlers...................Diezel Columus is the BEST EVER !!!! Damn! I love Diezel gear! so simple and so effective!!!!

I'm using a Nobels MF-2. It's great, and easy, although I'm not doing any heavy midi programming just yet. Just the basic channel prog. and mute. But I'll get to the channel inserts and so on as soon as I get a few pedals I need/want.
