WHAT!? Okay, I'm now interested in Solar

They're basically taking Schecter place in Europe. Cool guitars imho, and great price for european guys. Interesting artist roster for a brand this young too.

That top is beautiful like a fine table top that I would be too scared to take it out from the case and scratch it accidentally. Hence I like my guitars painted solid for practical reasons. :]

I’ll be the 3rd person in here to say I can’t deal with the 12th fret inlay. Deal breaker. It might as well be a Nike swoosh. Head stock and font ain’t great either.
The 12th fret inlay was always a deal-breaker in even considering a Solar, (and still is). It's silly, and to shove it down the throat of every buyer, (to me), only reaches certain people. He'd probably sell more guitars if he just went with Solar on the headstock, and ditch the obnoxious inlay.
The worst thing about these guitars, easily, is the obnoxious 12th fret logo. I kind of hate it. It's just a great big OLA THE YOUTUBE GUY advertisement right in the middle of the guitar. If they would replace that logo with the standard two dots on the 12th fret design, I don't think there would be a thing I could complain about.
Now imagine if Stevie T were to start a guitar company under his name and every guitar had this face on the 12th fret:

Played a solar once, solid guitar. I’m curious about their European builds.
They also got my attention for a short moment, but they all have Richlite Fretboards.
But i followed the YT-Link above and found this, which is more to my liking:

He did a Coffee with Ola a couple weeks back. I had no idea he was playing Solar, but it definitely makes it tempting to pick one up. The dude is a monster player. There were some issues with Solar's back in 2020-2021, I was hearing through mutual contacts of distributors and dealers with some pretty crappy quality concerns.. But it seems Ola has been taking things extremely serious and I haven't heard a whisper about those concerns since.

I think it's probably an "OK" Import Guitar with a veneer. I'd go with an E-II in that price range.

I love the features of the solar. I got the first artist signature run. My buddies got the next two runs. My guitar was perfect.

My custom jackson is very much specd the same. Volume placement is perfect. Reverse headstock. I dont mind the inlay whatsoever. I got rid of it because i was worried thst the evertune was making me a shitty player as it was my first electric. But the ones without qc issues are fantastic.

Marcus and Andre have always been big inspirations/influences to me and Marcus has pretty good taste. I always wanted one of those early 2000’s LP Limiteds in blue flame with the white binding and ebony board like he used to play on stage all the time.

I agree I don’t like the Solar logo inlay, it’s just too much but that goes for every guitar it’s on. Otherwise this is a really great looking and well-appointed guitar.

You mean the flat top blue burst ESP or one of his Gibs?

Stevie T is a pedo/groomer/goon/creep/or something sketch so I couldn't do that on principle.

I don't mind the solar inlay so much except that it seems to be a source of issues on the fretboard.

I say go for it but buy from thomann or somewhere with a better return policy than Solar direct.

Yeah he's a legit creep. Everything in him is just 'off'.

I considered Solar but there are other guitars around the same price ranges I like better such as Jackson and Ibanez.

Once you get looking at the Solar Made in Europe you're close to Ibanez Prestige / Jackson MIJ / EBMM Kaizen 6 / Majesty 6 prices, EBMM Kaizen and Majesty are two of my favorite guitars, with the Kaizen 6 my current fav (I own four so far: Indigo, White, Mint and Kryptonite; only one Majesty, but plan to get a second when the new colors are available later this year).

I feel that their explorer is the ugliest one I've seen anyone make. The horn to body ratio is bleh, and the candle flame looking headstock doesn't fit well. I was really hoping they were going to make more ergs in multiscale, especially in the "Extreme" shapes, because few else do. That said, put an OFR in one of these...

LOL no. Ibanez is absolute shit unless youre talking vintage, and jackson is shit until you're talking 6k custom shop.

EBMM is legit in the price range but for what body design? Which is so close to the Solar? The S shape of the richardson?

not even close, still better QC than Gibson for much less $, but I wouldn't buy a custom shop from Jackson or anyone else at those prices.

My Jacksons are my cheap guitars, and work great if you're not a neanderthal. :D

Enjoy your Solar; doubt it would match today's Ibanez for quality. not sure which EBMM but with European Solar prices you have other options was my point.

when was the last time you tried an Ibanez? :D A Prestige? Maybe you got b-stock?

Ibanez are guitars for people with tiny hands who think Joe Satriani is NEAT and mayonnaise is spicy.
