My Husband's Birthday is in about a month and want to get him something special, but he's been quiet on wants. So, I really have no hints or clues for this year. Kids aren't really any help as they're not around much these days. Don't really want to get him anything music gear related since he's kinda wanting to get rid of a few pieces of his unused gear anyways, but am open to it mostly in the hopes that mods think it's on topic and this thread doesn't end up in OTC. :ROFLMAO: It would be cool to get some ideas of something unique and/or different. Do you know if that is just for birds?
Are you familiar with anything like bear, boar, or maybe bighorn kinda thing?
Also, not sure what the rules are with Canada, I know that he can carry whatever anywhere in the States.
Is that something they supply a gun for?
Any safe places in Africa or something like that because I would want my son to go with him.

I feel like a broke down old wrecking machine lately with all the manual labor plus a couple gigs last weekend. Jackhammering holes, hauling 80lbs bags of concrete, and climbing the scaffolding in my living room have been wearing me out. When I die I hope my wife doesn't tell anyone and just covers me with rocks out back tbh cause I'd love to beat the man just once.

These are excellent questions. There is a service that helps you find hunts in canikistan. Im sure one for africa also. If i went hunting in Africa, I would want to use a double barrell 505 gibbs

If he has that much guns & ammo - a day at the range.
See if he needs a specific scope (long range, night vision, or a spotting scope).
Or a Shotkam - they're fun

There are plenty of hunting destinations in the US - not sure where you are located but there are hog hunts down south, or any number of exotics to hunt.

His friends are his tools, our son, and a few buddies from the Military, but none live around here. I would be open to adding a gift card, but looking for something more personal. So far I have a pair of vintage 1930s Ray Ban aviator sunglasses and have an appointment to get my hair done and get glamour photos done for him as he at least pretends to like those :ROFLMAO: He's into things that are "useful" and well made/antique/vintage. Trying to come up with something unique. He's younger Gen X, but old school. Anything tool or gun related would probably be off limits as he's very specific to those kinds of things. Appreciate y'all's input!

Get your kids and his military friends together in person for his birthday party. Take some of those guns and ammo, and go shoot targets in the woods?
 
If an experience kind of deal would be his thing, I’ve got some buddies that have done guided elk hunts just outside Yellowstone & absolutely loved it.

Wouldn't know where to begin. IIRC he was talking about a scope a while ago that was like over $10k. Def not my area of understanding to spend that kinda money on something that I have no clue about.

I get that, but probably along the same level as one of us suggesting a squier and a frontman amp to a seasoned player if that makes sense.
Really liking the idea of a cool hunting trip though, but something not so much shooting from a box or whatever they're called or staying at a lodge.
More like that Jeremiah Johnson meme that gets posted all of the time. Feel he would be into that with our son.
