@NowYou'rePlayingWithPower do y'all got a clothesline? My clothesline is among my favorite possessions. That would make a killer gift IMO.

Another item my wife purchased that I was very pleased with how useful it was:

Evo Oil Sprayer Minis, Non-Aerosol for Olive, Cooking Oils, and Vinegars, 8-Ounce Capacity, 1 Each Yellow and Green https://a.co/d/1xXBQ98

If he cooks on a griddle these are perfect for applying oil.

Note, try Grapeseed oil as an alternative to Olive.

Good call. And grapeseed oil has a higher heat point than olive oil.

Want a cheap clothesline that lasts forever? Go down to your fishing shop and ask for 80 feet of the highest test braid they have for catfish leaders, but you wanna cut them yourself. It should be like 160 lb test...wrap em and they last forever.

I got some of that green translucent vinyl wrapped wire and it has held out for nearly 10 years=thousands of loads. I've been mostly line drying everything but whites on the line for about 14 or 15 years. I was handwashing all my laundry for about a year when my washer broke down but my old man sent me a new one and kind of ruined it for me but I wanted to be gracious and receive his gift with thanksgiving so I did that.

I like the cut of your jib, sir

My power company came out the other day and manually read my meter because apparently it's suspicious when everyone is paying 250-350 and mine is like a hundred bucks a month this time of year.

People have made day at range and hunting suggestions. You say you live in a secluded forest and he is ex special forces. How about buying him a homeless person/persons to hunt in the forest? Show him you really care.

His friends are his tools, our son, and a few buddies from the Military, but none live around here. I would be open to adding a gift card, but looking for something more personal.
How about a calendar with photos of you and your son, his friends, etc. You could have Wayne make a customized Special Forces pedal too. He can design all kinds of cool stuff.

My wife knows I'm typically happy with a trip to a brewery and just about anything else.

I don't even know. Have been so spaced out this year so far and bouncing around from one project to the next and not sure if he's said anything. Usually I pick up on his hints and whatnot, but if there have been any they've gone over my head. I really want to do something special for him because he's buying me a new Landcruiser for my Birthday in a couple of weeks and so far am just drawing mental blanks. Figured y'all would have some good ideas to get me thinking. Really believe the best thing would be some kinda adventure for him and our son to do together more than anything because our baby boy is going to leave the nest soon.
if your boy is leaving the nest, he might not show it, but I guarantee he's really bummed about it. An experience with his son is something he can hold for a lifetime.
