What Would Y'all Want for Your Birthday?

He has plenty of that stuff.
Probably more than anyone here.
o_O
I’ll say a number of us here have want and hoard problems. Guns and Ammo just goes along for the ride.
That's a pretty cool idea. He's Swedish, but has no real ties to family as he was in foster care his entire childhood. He has some siblings that he found out about around 20 years ago, but they're kinda bums (not the homeless kind the other kind.) That might actually be something that would interest him though. Wouldn't mind doing that myself either, both of my Grandfathers are Scandinavian, as well. Probably the only reason I'm not short :ROFLMAO:
I’m Swedish but I could care less about going to the Scandinavian region. However;
I recently took my dad, (83), brother, and son on one of the bourbon trails in Kentucky. Totally different experience that we talked about for years. Great towns. Lots of info even for those that do not drink. If you do a few tours in Louisville, there are 2 really really nice hotels there that are worth visiting and staying in. Since it’s Louisville; not super expensive and there are some very nice restaurants. We went to 3 bourbon tours, ate at nice restaurants and sat in the bar and talked all night. It’s a memory that I won’t forget.
Pappy Van Winkle is a ridiculously good and ridiculously expensive bottle of bourbon. Lots of excellent and expensive bottles of scotch too. If that’s something he’s into. Maybe a 5 day class at Gunsite. Or Thunder Ranch. Or one of Travis Haley’s classes. If he doesn’t have an HK MP5 he definitely wants one because clearly he’s not gay 🤣.
its good but I personally feel bad opening it because I didn’t grow up that way as I had nothing. So opening a 500-3000 bottle of liquor is not gonna happen. Go to restaurant; pay too much for a two pour and forget about it.

@NowYou'rePlayingWithPower: we have a shooting competition every year in NW Tennessee that we put on through the Henry County Gun club sanctioned by the The Civilians marksmanship program.. dozens of folks come from around the county including some special forces guys, army, marine etc. anyway another thought.

Listen, this is truly getting out of control. A bj and a steak. Everyman would be ecstatic.

He's not really into Bon Jovi. Unless you mean Billy Joel? Bomber Jacket? Blue Jeans? Ben and Jerry's?

Gonna go down to the flight school later today and get some more info.
It's weird on their site they show costs by the hour, but then say that it's twice the cost if they take 1 class a week vs 5.
Thought it would be a fun thing for them to do over the summer, but he would have to take time off from work, which I feel like he should do anyways.

Sorry. I actually got uncharacteristically drunk tonight. Was waiting at the table for drinking partner and opened my phone stupidly. Shouldn’t have written anything. I meant Brian Johnson. I mean he’s no Bon Scott, but would still make a great dinner host.

Nothing to be sorry for.
It's just banter and am fully aware of y'all's wants on that front.
Now, if you told me to STFU or make a sandwich like someone else did, might take it differently. :ROFLMAO:

Maybe a custom Charvel but would settle for a 25 year old smoking hot mistress who never asked for a thing.

He likes antique/vintage stuff.
Not like antique road show, but motorcycles, cars, watches, weapons, tools, leathers, etc...
Nothing fancy (like that knife posted earlier), but still high end/quality/old versions of things.
Dan said it best on the first page, which is why I asked y'all for unique or out of the box ideas.
When our son moves out, am thinking of possibly getting us horses to devote time to, but not rn.
You know horse food is just straight shredded up $100 bills right?

Flying lessons would be an awesome gift IMO.

That's the route I'm taking. It will force him to take time off and my son is pretty excited and is just old enough to get licensed. Also looking at a new Klim riding suit for next winter as something for him to open besides the sunglasses and glamour photos. That should wrap it up hopefully.

Great choice with 100% sincerity. Very expensive hobby. You will love it as he will too then you will see in about 2 years you will own a plane. In about 15 years you will be on your 4th trade in; as depreciating planes/tax implications requires moving up the “piston pole” to “turbo prop” then the “jet”. Planes are great for those that can fly them. They are a boat anchor for those that get flown.

If you mean expensive to feed and maintain, yes am aware.
Fortunately, I have the education, skills, and experience to offset the most expensive costs.🦄👩‍⚕️

Most all hobbies are expensive, but YOLO and all that jazz. Just excited that he and our son will be doing something awesome together this summer. Given our history, I'm sure there will be an airlplane build in one of our garages or a local hanger somewhere before 2 years though :ROFLMAO:

Ha, I know it's probably the reason I can offset safely with my gear addiction, because she can't say shit about having expensive hobbies :)
