Pretty much always stick with the same brand cab as the head you have. The Herbert is going to sound the best with a Diezel cab, as with a different brand head, with that same brand cab.
Good, pussy! Now you're talking...
Give me one instance where a certain brand head sounds better with a different brand cab(I'm talking quality gear, no junk). :jerkit:

I like my Framus Cobra through a VHT Cab better than through the matching Framus Greenback cab. I also thought a Dual Rectifier sounded better through a traditional sized cab then through the Mesa Oversized thats supposed to be the cab for the Rectifiers.

Well, I have to disagree. I tried my Cobra on my VHT cab and didn't like it as much as putting my Cobra back with it's greenback cab. Same way with my 50CL, only sounded it's best through my fat bottom cab. I also disagree on the rectifier. I think my 2 ch dual sounds the best with the recto cab. I've tried it on other standard size cabs and didn't think I was gaining anything.

I guess it's just taste. I can even give you two more: I prefer the Engl Blackmore through the Engl Standard cab with V60s (assuming that Engl intended the Blackmore to be used with the Pro cab). Also I prefer a 5150 through a good V30 cab as compared to the 5150 cab.

Definantly personal taste for sure. Regardless of Engl or Mesa, I kind of meant sticking with the same brand cab as head, regardless of what cab from that same brand that someone might prefer. Kind of like the front load Diezel cab with 100's vs. prefering a rear load with hempcones.

I also agree on the Peavey 5150, the Peavey cabs are junk. Getting into the cheaper brands is a different deal.

basically i want a cab then can produce a huge thump-- im currently using a 2x12 vert recto cab with v30s and a VHT sig x and i cant seem to get the massive bottom end. basically the ideal tone would be a cross between jeff loomis (nevermore) and older in flames with some dream theater thrown in.

Welcome to the family, G. Work has begun and we look forward to getting the beast headed your way.

thanks a lot-- after reading so many good reviews, figured you made a cab good enough for any amp!
now only if i can order my herbert sooner...

As in my avatar; If im going vintage, I use the rear loaded 2x12's..If I want to annialate w/ ultimate heaviness, I use the front loads.
