I like the combination of both with a good amp head switcher. :D

thanks for the info everyone.

I used full ADA rack rigs (pres, power and cabs...100% ADA) rigs for guitar and bass back in the day...all that's left now is my main MP-2. Other racks, I also have a Marshall JMP-1 + JFX-1, and for bass my Trace Elliot MP-11 preamp.

My main rack now is a G-System + TriAxis that will have a Two Notes Torpedo CAB once it ships (I ordered and paid for it already), and may get the Nova Drive and Big Muff in the loops. This is my direct board.

My newest rack (and why I'm really back to rack) is my Engl half stack:

E530 tube preamp
E850/100 stereo tube power amp, 100W per side
2 PRO Slanted E212VHB cabs.

from pristine cleans to massive high gain saturation with great OD and crunch in between...I only wish I considered Engl before.

I'm still a Vox guy though, so my AC30 and AC15 are here to stay

No pics of my current racks yet.

My last ADA rack before the sell off...only the MP-2 remains:

I still have a rack rig I use once and a while. Usually runs into a 2x12 Avatar cab with G12H30's or the 5150 III 4x12.

I kind of have. I was having trouble running two amp heads together, and found the solution was to include my stereo rack poweramp to help balance the sound the way I wanted. It works a treat.

I'm a rack guy. Right now I'm kind of in between rigs, with only a temporary setup, but my main rig is a combination of an Egnater M4 and a rack mounted Mesa MKIII Red Stripe. I haven't officially landed on what I'll be using for effects, but I've got a G Major, a Lexicon MPX G2, and a Digitech IPS 33b, plus a selection of pedals up front switched with the T-Rex MAC 1/Bigfoot. I recently picked up a JC20H for a simple head/cab solution, but it's hard to get me away from the rack rig.

Bad Cat? Never seen one of those before.

His rig was my desktop wallpaper for awhile.

Thats great!......Im putting together a full blown rockman rig-with his poweramp/cabs,etc...one of the most underated inventions ever, mainly cause most people arent running rockman gear the way it was meant to be run-full range---sounds phenomenal when hooked up right...I would pay someone to make me Toms' Hyperspace pedal?????????????????????????????

Unfortunately,I have the only one in production and James has one( if he didnt sell it).my best cleans ans semi-cleans in the whole rack.there was gonna be a run of 50, then all of a sudden He dropped the ball on it and took the chinese made badcat line on instead....pity, cause a real nice badcat poweramp was next in the making.I saw the plans for it-it wouldve had some firsts ever in the poweramp design of things...

Ive said this before on here a while ago, weve had many occasions in a studio/practice session , where clients plug into some of our boutique amp heads and then the rack and actually preferred the rack's pre's and poweramps sound and feel...if its wired clean and properly, you will love racks and thier extreme flexibility they can have...

that is some VHT porn... me likey

I was gonna replace the vht classic w/ 1rst run Badcat poweramp w/ all kinds of crazy options on it and the builder dropped the rackmount gear in favor of other things instead.....thats puttin it nicely and proper, I believe ;)

Well,Im glad they have one, as I have to chuckle for a moment on that one....much appreciated, although Ive got a direct line to the main cat ( and he's got one to me too-should he choose to use it), anyways, after the amount of moola that went out for this preamp, and then one custom shop head, and adding a +one year wait for em,Its probably more fitting that I would own all the stock in the company itself..lol......joking aside, they make a killer product and theyre still my best clean tones hands down.

I AM!! My rack contains from top to bottom: Surge X power conditioner, Alembic F1-X, Korg A-3, TC Electronic G-Force, Eventide H-3000DS/X, Korg Dt1-Pro tuner, Korg A-2 (for a little reverb only) and a Crown Xls 2000 power amp. Speakers: (two)2 Hartke 210 Transporter cabinets. Love stereo!! gotta have stereo!!!.  This is the most funkiest, most versatile rig I have ever built for bass/guitar ( I am going to take out the Korg Dt1-Pro tuner {i have too many tuners now} and install the ISP Decimator instead which is on order). (crappy camera image but, I don't see any complaints, so there)

I've been running a rack setup for the last 4 years. I recently acquired a VHT Pittbull 50/cl and Diezel 2x12 that I use for a grab n' go. I also use the FX return of the VHT to power the dry side of my W/D/W setup. Yes racks can be ridiculously complicated, heavy, impractical, etc, but I have been immensely satisfied with the tone and flexibility I get compared to a traditional head/cab setup. I agree

This would sound better if you turned it right-side-up. ;)
