My wife is an RN.
We were discussing.
People can change genders.
But if you go to a hospital for something, they are going to treat your symptoms based on your biological sex.

Honestly though man, that is the entire crux of the “I identify as” thing that so many get butthurt over. People that are born anatomically one sex, but for whichever reason feel or know that their gender does not match their anatomy.

A small portion go through surgeries so they can look more like they feel.

A very tiny percentage of that already small portion, which is the percentage that the haters mostly focus on, think that the surgeries actually turn them in to a biological man or woman.

And as you said, that just isn’t the case.

The word you want is not euphemism, which indicates a softening of the impact of a word (passed away vs. died) but metonym.
