I got an early one post preorder.

I tried off and on to play my kemper for years at church. Always felt like it was missing a lot, very one dimensional and uninspiring to play.
I tried using my own profiles and professional profiles.
So for years I kept lugging my tube amps.
Which I honestly don’t mind doing.
If the amp doesn’t inspire me to play I’m lost.

Since the first time I used the QC with the band, I haven’t felt the urge to bring an amp out again.
I captured my own amp and cab.
It responds in a very amp like way to playing dynamics , pick attack guitar volume and clean boost.

I am really picky , I only like to gush on a few select amps I’ve had , any Diezel , Bogner Helios and Matchless DC30. Had lots of others that were great just not “it”.
The QC delivers to the extent that I can barely tell it’s not my amp.
For the simplicity of carrying a stereo amp rig in a pedalboard case it’s unbelievable.

Had mine for three months now and it comes down to this for me too.
I've owned them all and there was always this little 'off' thing that was distracting
and just screamed digital.

Not with the QC. It feels like a tube amp. Plain and simple.

I've started loading up my mods and scratch builds to the Cortex Cloud - here's a quick A/B test of amp vs. capture.

Very cool. The A/B sound notably different between the amp and capture BUT, not to say the captures sound bad by any stretch.

Would love to send you a PM. Contemplating pulling the trigger on the QC myself. Seems like it's had a few great updates over the last 10 months since this post. Wanted to pick your brain on your experience with it so far.

Damn my bad. Been a long time reader and figured I'd join as I'm on the fence. Anyone willing to field a few questions who've spent some time with the QC over the last year?

i have one, ive only spent about an hour on it. I also have a kemper IMO the quad cortex blows the kemper out of the water. ive only played both through headphones and the kemper has a really weird digital artifact when playing.

Thanks for replying! I really appreciate it. Playing with headphones on the QC have you had any of the "ungrounded issues" where you hear a hum etc (assuming you're plugging right into the QC)?

I've heard some great things - I've got some other Qs but don't want to bombard this particular discussion.

I really like it. It feels like an amp and to me, better than the Kemper and helix which need an overdrive etc. to help with feel and sound. Although, I love using my pedals with the quad it does not need them. It just makes it that much better. I’m a pedal addict so I’m ok with using different pedals with it. I enjoy trying different distortion, overdrive and or fuzz with it.

Can’t say how it compares to a Kemper or AxeIII, but I totally dig it. It’s easy to set up however I want and sounds great. I use it along with a Suhr Reactive Load and love how easy it is to capture my amps and utilize the onboard IR’s. It’s super easy to dial in quickly and IMHO it sounds better than the HX Stomp I had. Much more in line with what I expect a cab with a mic on it to sound and react.
I can compare. The quad is a lot better feeling and sounding than the Kemper and the Helix. I’m a tube amp guy and pedal addict and they will always come first but I love the quad. Btw it was originally $1400. I figured it would be like the others and passed on it twice. Then recently I bought a used mint one for more money. Yea stupid move but it was worth it. And it’s not a tweaker’s delight. You actually set it up. I do like using my external pedals just because I love them but I don’t need to I want to. And I spend hours playing it through a regular guitar cabinet. I’m
a home guitarist and I’ve been playing long enough to know what sounds and feels good. It took yrs to save up and get nice amps which are Friedman, Bogner, Egnater tweaker 15 etc all heads. I saved for yrs and waited til I felt I deserved them. Again, for me I love the quad. The only other one I’d use if I was a pro on stage might be the Axe but it’s the only one I haven’t tried.btw there currently 3 left on reverb that are price gouging. There’s no way I would spend more than $3 grand on it. I think I got it at a decent price although as I said at more than the original price. One more thing. You don’t have to be a heavy metal player to use it. I play rock, blues, RnB, pop and funk on it.

I'm fairly certain Kiko Loureiro is using the Quad Cortex live.....and when I saw Megadeth a few months ago his tone was killer.

Never had the chance to try one myself yet
