Why is Mahoganey not desireable for a Superstrat?

A 1/8th inch maple top will have little effect on the tome of a mahogany body. A 1/4-1/2 inch will.

No doubt the Maple topped Mahogany body guitars deliver the tone.
But the original posting was about why no love for a straight mahogany body, without a MAPLE TOP.

That would be correct. Safe to say that Mahoganey/Maple top is a proven combo that works.

And also an all maple neck without a rosewood or ebony fretboard.

what is the finish on your modern and do you have better pics?

I have this Charvel San Dimas Reissue - i think those were made in Ontario in the 90ies.
It's a full koa body (which I consider same as mahogany), birdseye maple neck with a very thick rosewood board. I always thought the thickness of the rosewood is there "just because we can". Now reading this I can imagine that was definitely on purpose.

Mahogany body and neck, maple top, ebony fretboard, lots of mids :D However they are much more low mids than high mids which may not be suitable for everything.
