Anyone like to see another Boogie? Maybe something like a Mark IIC or Mark IV? I would love to see another Boogie, different from the Erect. :D

COC is not a true Boogie. It is a sweet module but still not in the Petrucci range.

Dude...all Boogie tones aren't Petrucci tones. I disagree 100% with you here. The COD has more of a Mark I flavor...which is more Santanaish tone...not Petrucci tone. So...it's more vintage Boogie tones...not modern boogie tones.

Dude, you need to stop.

Petrucci tones aren't necessarily "true Boogie." Santana/MkI = "true Boogie"

Threads like this have been done to death. Without a board redesign, there is no way to pull more gain out of the COD without it oscillating.

Where have you been the last year and a half?

Amen brutha! :)

I can see how the high gain COD/Mark II/Mark IV module would be difficult to make.

You take the wacky EQ on the Mark Series amps, the two gain controls, and the
graphic EQ and try to stuff it into a module? That's like trying to fit a 10 lb sausage
in an 8 lb bag. Plus you have all of Mesa's patents to deal with.

I'd like to see it happen too, but man, that's gotta be a challenge.

I would love to have a module with channel A: Lonestar and channel B: Stiletto Ace!

We have been over this ad nauseum. Everyone and their mother wants a high gain Mark IIC+/IV type module ala Chevelle, Lamb of God, "Scenes from a Memory" era Petrucci. I suspect that if Egnater plans for additional modules that this will be seriously considered, not as a mod to COD, but as a new design. The COD was not designed to sound like Petrucci. It is not a high gain metal module and is not supposed to be.

Well said Matt.

Could you guys comment on the COD .I know it has been mentioned that it is not a pure clean mod .I am wondering if the A side Could be made pure clean if modded .

It says it is Fender based eq . It would be cool to have a Deluxe ,or a twin on the A and then the MK/Dumble on the B.

I am seriously thinking about switching my Randall setup for an E2 when released .I know I am already sold on the Sl2X as it does sound like a great marshall .i want a great clean but bluesy tone as well .I have thought of the T/d a dual twin ,or a T/V anythought on those mods would be appreciated as well ..

cheers!!

In my humble opinion, I don't think the COD would be capable of what you described. Stock, the module gets darker the lower the gain is set (kind of opposite of a Marshall based module). I would assume this is due to the placement of the tone stack in the gain circuit.
If youre looking for a darker, warmer clean for say, jazz or if you are using a single coil equipped guitar, Channel A set clean can be very nice...But not really like a Deluxe or Twin.

Once again though, I am noooo expert here. PM or Call Jeff. He would be the guy to ask.

Thanks Muudrock,

Yep .if it is going darker lower gain .probably not the ideal choice for 80's ballads or southern/country rock perhaps a T/V (if they still do them) would be closer. I know a lot of the new country guys are using DrZ , divided by 13 stuff

I agree w/ muudrock here. Having played the COD a lot...it does good for semi-dirty texas blues tones...and really awesome mid-gain tones. Not a clean module at all. It can get gritty clean...ala King's X Summerland...but never sparkly "ballady" clean.

well, I already own the renegade so with the E2 I'm 100% sure I'll get the COD

I still don't know what to get next to it...... prob. a T/D

I'd get the VX or EG5.
