Shouldn't matter. AC heaters don't necessarily need to be twisted pairs to be noise free. But no, looking at the photos it appears to be regular old AC heaters. The bus bars terminate at a terminal strip which goes straight to the PT primary side for 6.3v AC.

Seems like a reasonable location to me *shrug*. Located near the other PS, rectifier, and bias components.

What jumps out at you as being exceptional?
I am not interested in a pissing match. But one thing that is very heavy duty is the jacks. Besides the fact that the fucking head itself is really heavy. Everything on the amp feels really nice. One thing i like too is the resistance of the pots. I am not a big fan of them barely turning to a differnent setting. I know that has nothing to do with quality, but it is a nice touch.

I know you do a lot of builds. I am really interested in your work as well, as it comes with high recomendation. I wonder, to you, how much does this look like a jcm800? It has a few different things on it; a threeway switch that is a boost/neutral/boost. And it has a line out, but aside from that, it is supposed to be his take on the 800, hence the name. Does it look similar to you?

I think both of you probably would have the smirk wiped off by the sound of it. But either way. I don't know how much one costs new. But i think it is much lower than 5k. So I don't know where this number comes from. But thanks for stopping by.

What do you think this amp is? There is no 25 watter. Oh...I see. You think Rick has one model with different wattages. The thing I find funny. I don't care if you have played the amp and didn't like it. Everyone likes different things. But people stop in posts to shit on something they don't even know what it is. It is childish at best. Did Rick hurt you? Cuz if he touched you, I will report him

I remember I went to missourii and was helping during the joplin tornado. I ran into a lot of small minded people there, like some of the people on this site. They would say things like, "everything is bigger in texas isn't it?" I suppose they assumed I was limited in scope as they and had some blind love for a geographic region that my parents happened to live in when I was born... I have dealt with state pride, it isn't a big deal. But then I would ask them if they had been to texas. Often the reply would be, "I am in the best place in the world" And often they had been nowhere else. It is fairly typical of ignorant people to have little experience with other things besides in their tiny world. But I welcome all of you to travel and if you ever come to texas, you are welcome to stop by and try my amp. And if you don't like it for what it sounds or plays like, at least you won't be showing your ignorance.

I had wizard in 1999 ok and there is a 25 watter. Buy whatever you want, makes no difference to me, I was just stating they are 5k plus new. I n 99 i think i paid 1200 for a used classic 100 watter.

And ya wonder why putting Pan on ignore is recommended by 4 out of 5 doctors.

Who the fuck cares how much something costs?
Some people buy expensive watches.
Who gives a rat's ass?

And these are the Friedman BE Mini of the Rolex line.

I recently built a '68 Superbass and a '69 Superlead and didn't twist the heaters in either one. It worked so well in my SLO clone which has way more gain so I figured why am I wasting all this wire, it only saves a little time but still. Old McIntosh tube HiFi stuff didn't twist either. I think it looks better too.

I haven't been following amps very much over the last year or two and this is the first I've even heard of a W800. A few videos I just listened to sound great. Actually the best tones I've heard from a Wizard IMO (UberschallEL34's video). As far as what this amp is... the other Wizard models' schematics/origins are widely known and my understanding is that they aren't considered novel by many.

Looking at the photos of this amp, it certainly appears to be an 800-based topology. That said, I'd love to try one out given the opportunity.

Build quality is another story. I would personally do things a little different but hey, I'm not the one selling amps :)

Yeah. I wiish I understood amps more. I feel like i have a block on the circuit. I was actually interested in trying to build a jcm 800 clone. I love single channel amps. I think I probably would have fucked it up pretty good. But, that said. You are more than welcome to try it if you are ever in Austin.

Actually, just saw the video clip I listened to was with a "couple" of boosts. So I actually have no idea what the amp sounds like. And I've heard boosted JCM800s get the same sound. My interest level just went way down lol.
