I have owned 2 Bogner Ecstasy amps including the "holy grail" 100B. I have owned the Makoplex. I have owned 7 or 8 different Camerons and I am a dealer for Splawn amplifiers.
The Bogners were amps that always seemed so close to the right sound. So close! Tweak this knob, flip that switch turn this knob, flip the switch back, turn on the variac, try the pentode/triode switch etc etc etc. ENDLESS knob turning and switch flicking and NEVER getting exactly what I wanted to hear. I sold them both in frustration after giving them countless chances to win me over.
The Makoplex I recently owned was the very last point to point Makoplex Andrew made. To tell you the truth, I thought that amp was horrible. There was nothing wrong with it either. I sold it to a guy that had another one and he loves it. I could just not jive with that amp. I am all about hot-rodded plexi tones too. I have vintage Marshall Super Leads and a Mojave Peacemaker and a Cameron Jose so i like THAT sound. The Mako missed the mark by 100 miles FOR ME.
The Cameron stuff is great. Juicy, liquidy lead tone and notes just scream off the neck. The voicing seems to be more high mids oriented and there is a bit of sizzle to it. Not so much where it's fizzy, but it definitely has some sizzle to it. A guy could have an entire career as a guitar hero that everyone raves about his tone just having a single Cameron in his arsenal.
The amp I have been playing the most lately is my Splawn Quickrod. For leads it isn't quite as "juicy" as the Cameron but it has more low mids and is smoother in the highs. It doesn't have that sizzle like the Camerons, but I normally try and dial out as much sizzle as possible and on the Quickrod that is very easy. I know you have ruled out the Splawn stuff for whatever reason, but with the amps on your list, for me the Cameron should be on the list and add the Quickrod to it and either of those should get it done for you.
And the OD100? Great amp for what it does but seems to be geared towards a different type of player than the other amps on your list.
