$150 in fees for tickets, not including the price of the tickets.
Support your local bands.
Few years ago I decided 'not one more penny' and I've held to that. I wont give that POS company another penny even if they made a time machine and I could see Pink Floyd in their prime. Fuck Ticketmonster.

I don't even consider most shows these days. Not on my radar.

I don't even keep up anymore but if I recall Ticketmonster also became/split into Ticketmonster + Ticket-nation or something like that but its that same fucking rip and at that point is when I didn't even want to keep up with who was responsible. I was out.

I know nobody mentions her here and its a super tall ask...but I wish Taylor Swift would have stood up to them. She's the only one with the power. But I don't blame her either.

The big artists don’t want to give up their lifestyle they had when people paid for their music. Now that nobody pays for it and streaming services don’t pay dick to artists, this is what we get. The thought of paying that kind of music for a show where the sound will probably suck and you’re standing or sitting in a sports arena hard seat, is nuts to me. That’s the kind of money you should pay to see a huge band in an intimate venue with even a nice steak and open bar thrown in. Haven’t seen a big venue show in over 20 years. Shit, I just realized I haven’t seen any band live, on purpose, in 20 years, except for one weekend, several years ago, doing the Broadway thing in Nashville.

I was in bars and clubs hanging or gigging so much for about 15 years. I guess when I took a break from doing it, I just never wanted to go back.

It's fun that you say that because we went to see Cradle of Filth of all bands at a sit down fancy dinner last year.

I was under the impression that the Biden administration got rid of "junk fees" for the monopoly Ticketmaster/Live Nation. I don't remember fees ever being that high or even on my last few shows at all. Also, not trying to turn this into a political downfall thread.
I think Trump undid that with an executive order.

Until people refuse to pay it, it will continue.

You aren't wrong.
This is just the worst example I've ever seen.
There was little difference between the least expensive and most expensive seats.
So, I opted for the latter and am in the fourth row.

Garland had initiated a lawsuit against them, but didn’t hear much after his press conference announcing it on what the progress was, or if it’s now dead with Trump.
I wonder if it is currently just state specific and why I thought they had disappeared, but when I think about it my last two ticketmaster shows were in Portland. So, maybe Oregon has different laws in that regard and was just confusing them with what you're referring to, dunno ?‍♀️

I think it was the DOJ (which may mean Garland :dunno:), and I haven't seen any executive orders mentioning it but I may not have looked close enough.
