Also those ticket prices are crazy, but hey if you got the dough... First show I've been to in a bit was a local show the other night. $10 cover, with competent players covering a great setlist. Those NIN prices make it feel like I got in for free.

In Finland the golden circle ticket prices for Gn'R next summer gig were 143€ and service fees were around 20€ per ticket (Ticketmaster). Iron Maiden's stage front area tickets for next summer were ~120€ and service fees ~20€ if I remember correctly (non-Ticketmaster).

Yeah but now they also own the venues, and the screen printing, and the buttons.....it's past terrible. Let's not get into the contracts these days, where they also get a piece of the tour money.

Not like we can do anything to change it.

Capitalism is a whole buttphuch

Its taking over everything.
Including music gear 🫠

And I thought $600 for my wife and I to see Weird Al was an expensive splurge.
But we got the whole VIP package which included front row seats, free drinks during the show, after show dinner, meet & greet, pictures, a few other souvenirs, and autograph of an item you brought in.
We went to San Antonio for this a year or so before COVID and made it a week long vacation.

Dealing with Ticketmaster/Live Nation is just as bad as dealing with your utility companies!

The Acid Bath reunion shows were just announced. First shows after 28 years. Two festival appearances and two local shows at the Fillmore in New Orleans. Both Fillmore shows sold out in under a minute, only to reappear for sale on StubHub for $400-$5000 a ticket. And then they sold out at those prices.

I’ve seen over 1000 concerts in my life so far (it helps I used to be a professional sound tech), so I feel like if I don’t see anymore BIG shows, I’ve still seen more than my fair share. All of the golden era bands are dying off or retiring anyway. There are very few bands left that I’ll pay Ticketmaster/StubHub prices to see. I have more fun at local venues and dive bars anyway. I’ll refuse to support the constant corporate fucking of my favorite art as long as I can. Oh well, at least I got to experience the real thing before it all went to shit.

It's fun that you say that because we went to see Cradle of Filth of all bands at a sit down fancy dinner last year.
If I ever hit the big time I'm still gonna eat my burger back by the dumpster. I hate eating in a room full of strangers plus It's comfortable and quiet back by the trash cans.

Nine Inch Nails. They went on sale just a few hours ago and they are already sold out. How the fuck do you sell out of 15k tickets at those prices in a few hours?
Same in Cleveland. Nobody I know was able to get them when they were released, but now they are popping up for $800 all over the place. I kinda miss the days when you needed physical tickets to get in. At least there was respect in a face to face transaction because the knee caps are within kicking distance. These asshats marking up tickets 800% should have to eat that ticket. I would rather see an empty seat than a sucker.
