I wish he would dump his Strats for at least one album and use a Flying V or other humbucker loaded guitar. Strats with a lot of gain sound like mushy crap for metal tones IMHO.

or strats for leads and humbuckers for rhythm

I think Yngwie blew goat balls on Mr Crowley. If you going to do a cover...do it right.

btw...I love YJM in YJM stuff ;)

I love Ynwgie's lead tones of course, it's just his rhythm tones. I would love to hear him play an entire album with that Gibson V that he's been spotted using here and there.

Yngwie is known to use Les pauls for recording rhythms. \:D/

If he does, he doesn't do it often. I always hear a Strat on most of his albums.

I like Ripper but this won't last long. Why ? Because its Yngwie

+1,000,000!!!

That's EXACTLY what I've been saying ever since he was in Alcatraz. In my opinion, single coils are for clean and blues tones ONLY!

You're retarded

I think he should get Ron Keel back!

"It's a Cold Day in Hell - You're freezin' me, can't you tell?"

I'm a humbucker guy myself but Yngwie = single coils. I really dug his old single coil tones on the live Alcatrazz and on the first two solo albums.

Its not his Strats that make his tone suck so much ass. :D Its that DOD pedal. Those things have the rattiest sounding top end ever...

It really depends on the bridge pickup too though. A newer stock Fender bridge single coil with high gain, usually sucks ass. Although the SCN pickups sound great under high gain IMO. And actually, those Dimarzio's that he uses would sound pretty righteous IMO if he ditched that lame ass DOD pedal. All IMO of course. :)

Just take a Strat and play it through a Marshall then do the same with a Gibson loaded with buckers. For hard rock and metal the buckers just have soo much more balls and crunch. I like the Dimarzios but a Strat is still going to sound like a Strat no matter how many boost pedals you use. I had an Yngwie Strat and compared to my parts superstrat i had it was just no contest for heavy tones.

I love Ynwgie's lead tones of course, it's just his rhythm tones. I would love to hear him play an entire album with that Gibson V that he's been spotted using here and there.

Have u heard the "Magnum opus" CD? His rhythm guitars sound fucking huge and full of crunch...check it

Impossible in this case because Yngwie doesn't play bends out of tune etc.

not gonna get in the fanboy war as both Randy and Yngwie are my two favorite players of all time and my biggest influences. Having said that...whens the last time you head an Yngwie tune at an NFL, NBA, MLB game...or or the radio for that matter...you havent :D   low blow I know but Yngwie should just stick to Yngwie neo-classical and/or classical stuff. He should get Jeff Scot Soto back if he wants to go commercial as marching out was really his best attemtp at doing something more mainstream. Don't let it end should have been a 10 40 hit :)

the Crowly cover was OK .

the solo phrasing was terrible and lacked emotion .

Instead of bringing the Fooking fury ..

Try writing a song...

agreed with everyone else , plug into a les paul , use an Elmwood modena(hey there swedish) on a few tracks ,play a mandolin.

but do something new if your going to release an album

LMAO! What does that have to do with one's playing? :hys: You hear Britney Spears songs on many events but that doesn't mean that she's an amazing singer...

I find it amazing that you worship Metallica, yet say something like this about Randy.

Exactly. It puts him on my "take everything he says with a grain of salt" list.

Kirk's bad lead player but I still love Metallica. What does that have to do w. anything about my comments regarding Yngwie's cover of Mr. Crowley? If I hear some Metallica covers, it's nice to hear someone do better job than Kirk.

LMAO! I like Metallica's music a lot but I don't like Kirk's lead playing. Did you get upset about my comments? :poke:

Considering it's you making the comments, it has everything to do with this thread.
