I run mine with bass at 10:00, everything else at 1:00. Channel and master volumes around 10:00 as well. But definitely set the knobs by ear, not by eye. Can get some pretty cool tones with some of the tone controls set to extremes.

I’d recommend checking it, I’ve never bought an amp that was biased where it should be from the factory. Most of the time they’re pretty low, I’d not know if that’s to prolong life of the tubes while the amps still new/under warranty or if it’s cause of wall voltage differences across the country

Had a Bogner Fish reissue that had the Cantrell mod, one the the best sounding high gain tones I’ve ever heard. Just couldn’t deal with lugging a big 100+ lb rack around anymore and it wasn’t very bedroom friendly haha. Sucks cause I know I’ll never find one of those again..

That’s 100% true about the transformers, I saw a second set of HT secondary leads that were taped off when I had the chassis out. I’m tempted to hook those up but I’m not sure if there’s anything else that has to be done, I imagine there’s a dropping resistor somewhere that’d need to be changed...
