Absolutely killer pedal- ton of range, and doesn’t alter the sound of the guitar or amp. The cut switch can go from sludgy lows to meshuggah clank. Add in the EQ which is separately footswitchable, and you can go from standard tuning to eight string or from rhythm to lead.

Very clean boost- didn’t add almost any gain- this pedal is definitely more for shaping tone rather than gaining it up. A little noisy but not in a way that ruins things.

Daniel Ringl is also a really sweet guy and knows his shit.

Strong recommend

I am getting more curious about Daniel's pedals. By roughly how much will it boost the gain/grind on your amp?

Cool. Thanks. How's it compare to a Buxom Boost if you've tried one?

The Asseater has more gain and cut, but the key to it is moderation. It's great with less level and not getting crazy with the cut.. It's also tighter and works best with more modern high gainers. The Buxom boost works better as an extension of your amp, vs. a tone-shaper.

Thanks man. Great description

Agree with everything already said about this pedal - I absolutely love it into a high gain head that you already love the tone of but just want to goose a touch with a clean boost and tighten up the feel. Works beautifully into something like a VH4 or an Orange Rockerverb. I would not use it in front of something like a Recto (where most people want that TS9 style EQ curve into a naturally scooped amp) or a JCM800 where you might need more gain.

Really useful pedal for specific applications

Exactly.. Extreme settings bring in some nasty artifacts. The EQ is hit/miss, again, moderation. It's great to "bump" certain frequencies, and bring some grind. You get too crazy, it can sound like shit. I honestly only bumped the bass and high mids a hair with the EQ.
