NAD: Lenz High Octane (Lenz Is Legit)

This is one of the rare times I give high praises to a recent made amp. It was one of those items where I knew on the first chord I played that it’s something good. It delivers on having the Recto flavor I love, while being able to (if desired) be at least as tight as any other amp I have (without a boost) besides just the Hermansson, Dorado or Hell Razor and no clank or anything remotely like that as some here complain about with those amps

Compared to the Rev C, the C is still more organic, much fatter, deeper low end, it won’t evict early Recto’s, they still have some magic that distinguishes them (for me at least), but the Lenz has a lot more clarity, more balanced, way tighter and actually more aggressive and ripping/grindy in the higher frequencies. Will be very interesting to see how Lenz evolves since he’s only 24. I’d also love hear it with EL34’s if it can take them. I don’t like to speak prematurely since I just got the amp, but so far at least after comparing with my other high gain amps it’s looking to definitely rank highly. I’m curious about his other amps now

Awesome!

Really like Eddy's clips and playing style.

Congrats!!! I’ve watched his demo of that amp more times than I care to admit. It sounds fkn glorious. Very angry and snorty. I would love to have one of his amps. What did shipping cost you if you don’t mind me asking?

I bought it second hand, so I don't know, but maybe I will if I get his other amps in the future. It is very angry and ripping

Did this amp not come in a CARDBOARD box and not have FILTER capacitors? You hypocrite!
For real though it is a big relief to have a newer made amp that I can't use my typical buzz words to describe: filtered, cardboard-y, plastic-y, sterile, from concentrate, none of that trash. I think the Naylor's and Wizard's still may be just a touch more raw, but this is definitely a raw sounding amp

Somehow I have come across this past year some modded vintage Marshall's that did sound really filtered. That was a real letdown
