We did 3 or 4 of the 'Durty Harry's' 2 week stints back in the mid 90s. Those bunk beds in the band shack damn near over the stage. Lol.
I still have a few of the plastic cups from the bar. Fun memories.
I have 4 of these dirty motherfuckers...and I'm constantly wearing out switches and pots and trem parts.
Stew-mac wants $25 for a fucking switch? WTGDF
It's a crapshoot to find a decent knob.
Whatchall doing?
I met Billy when he showed up to a Alice Cooper Tribute gig I did in '98
He was humble and cool AF as I gushed over him about the Don't Say No LP.
Class act, but didn't Jeff Golub have a ton to do with the guitars on his stuff?
I can maintain my guitars. I can do setups and pickup swaps and neck adjustments.
I have 4 Charvels that I feel can be super great if a MASTER tweaked them.
Who knows somebody?
Didn't read the whole thread.
I feel you. There are times I hand my guitar to my bass player to play a chord progression...just to get the thing...and it will sound massive. It makes me nuts.
I have been listening to guys like OLA since he was a noob, and he'd record a part on a POD and...
I think it's interesting. It sorta forces you to separate your love for 'the music' versus hero-worship.
We may be 10 years away from AI fixes your plumbing, but we're 10 minutes away from AI-George_Lynch is better than real George Lynch.
Buckle up buttercup.
IMO, Warmoth makes great necks, but they cant do a Charvel. The carves are not close and the headstock is just wrong.
I have a bud that had MusiKraft make a Charvel like neck that was really spot on. That's where I'm going from now on for Charvel type necks.
Y-wing is a god.
I saw him once a few years ago when he put 37 stacks onstage and shoved a 'band' into a 5 sq ft corner.
5 minutes was enough. But I was stuck there for the whole set. That's enough GangWay forever.
He's still great on the records tho.
I don't think there's ever been a 'post thy rig' thread anywhere that didn't quickly become:
Here's everything I own, and 1 or 2 of my classic cars + cat threads.
Did not disappoint.
This. My 'tone' has always been the best when I play a lot.
I spent a year playing through one of those blackstar battery amps. My recto and Axe-fx and the rest was in my ex-wife's basement. My 'tone' was massively improved.
I respect the shit out of Vai. He's a capstone of our era. But Vai doing anyone else's shit is always a tad goofy.
Vai should do Vai.
Or Yngwie should do Warrant. What the fuck do I know.
Kirk is objectively awful.
All the guy has to do is work on solos. He is set up to be a KING. Biggest band that is active. Just work on 10 or so songs every 5 years. Jesus fucking Christ. He blows it.
It depends on your situation.
Are you gigging? Are you rocking in your bedroom? Are you recording?
I've been Fractal since 2009. If I was only recording, I'd do software amps. If I was bedroom rocking I'd look at Helix/Fractal/Fender.
Gigging, I'd definitely do Fractal but the FRFR...
While I do think the pickups are important to this guitar... I don't think theyre Bill and Becky.
I have an old Bill and Becky in a drawer, and this thing sounds close enough to keep. Anyway, this aint a CS Nuno that I've been lusting for forever...but it is a fun little axe. It makes me...
