Maybe his Syn2 is too noisy like mine. Their build consistency is really, really shit, even though I like the system itself.
The Syn-5050 isn’t bad but it really needs the presence and depth turned up quite high.
As long as they continue to hire gorillas they’re gonna continue to be handled by them. I’ve seen and unloaded some really shady stacking in trailers years ago…
But seriously, that looks like that might have fallen at just the wrong place, like it dropped at the edge of the belt or something...
I didn't think the V3 was that bad. Very speaker dependent, though. Only cost me $600 so I had zero reason to complain.
Gonna be honest, this feels like a plugin, of which I have zero interest.
Honestly, the songs are weak and it is so far from what Megadeth had been, part of why he titled it Risk. I don’t much care for the guitar sound, either.
I think the train (of consequences) started going off the rails with Cryptic Writings though it still had a few good tunes. The System Has Failed was a step in the right direction and United Abominations was back to how they should have stayed.
I really like the stock IRs in the VHX. I can’t wait to see what’s been added in the next version, if IRs are updated. I uploaded some of my own, but honestly just stick with the K100 that’s on there.
I like the Hetfield set and Titanium’s from Ernie Ball but that’s about it, I’ve tried quite a few over the years. I took my PRS in for a setup and I hate the slinky’s they put on. My fault for forgetting to provide my own set.
Totally. All the songs are great, except These Boots. Something about Dave’s riffs just click with me. It’s not KIMB but I’ve been listening to a whole lot of United Abominations lately.
Huge fan, loved learning that album when I first started playing. Have since forgotten how to play those songs (except Mechanix), but been meaning to learn again. The remaster helped a bit.
Agreed on California, but I feel Disco Volante is their worst. I like a couple songs, especially Ma Meeshka Mow Kwoz, it’s just a harder listen sober, as an album. I listened to their discography a couple weeks ago doing work trips from my house to Charlottesville.
I've used the GT-1000 core as well as HX Stomp. I think the Boss has much better sounding models, and I didn't have to do as much tweaking, sometimes none at all. YMMV, but if you can find it fairly cheap I say get the Core.
Personally don’t like boosts (and almost never use with my Diezel), but I have an Aesahaetter and it doesn’t have the qualities I dislike in boosted tones. Plus the EQ is nice.
