Owned the 100w version and the Plexi side kills, however the ch2 is meh at best. This sounds exactly like that. For JEL's 80's tones get the V2 taco, more raw and open =80's Marshall tones!

I really wanted to love it and dug ch 1 a lot!

Yeah, if it sounds good, fuck it. I know from personal experience the PT-20 V2 sounds fantastic. I just prefer EL34's.

Just my preference I prefer PT V1 over V2.

To my ears from someone using the PT v 2 for rehearsals and as a back up gigging, it's voiced very similar to an EL loaded head. It's the smaller transformer that makes it sound a little less 'big' for lack of better description. Dave could have used one EL but he knows best and used 2 84's for a reason??
