Any news of Cameron lately?

Let’s bring a few amps together and get a lot of people trying them out and let them decide what’s subjective or not, what’s broad sweeping statements or not.
People can talk as much as they want online and say whatever they want, it’s a free world we live in, and here is not different, but if you want to convince me I’m wrong, stop talking behind a screen and bring me a better sounding amp.
Actually had the pleasure of being at an ampfest a few years back that did just that. There were 5 or 6 Cameron amps there, they were not better than any of the other amps there. The 2 modded Marshalls were great, but I wasn't impressed with the pre-brad ccv, or the 2 brad era amps at all.

You can’t get close to Cameron tones boosting with a sd1 or some shit?

You are confusing that with Cameron himself saying that a SD-1 boosted plexi or JCM800 is hard to beat and is already a fantastic tone. But if you want THAT tone, it is his amp mod.

If it’s the most current venture, looks like the company for Cameron/Jason’s LLC is suspended, per the California Sec of State. Might explain the lack of communication for those asking. Easy to check it for yourself in like 28 seconds.

Hope they've been diligent with their tax income records. Audits are a bitch.

The only pedal I have tried/heard/owned that has any real hint of that sound is the Majik Box Filthy Lucre pedal. It's a wonderful pedal and under the radar compared to a lot of other pedals which is surprising to me but it does have a bit of that sound to it.

I’ve read through most (not all) of the Cameron threads because its kind of like the ESPN replay when the guy’s leg bends the wrong way: dreadful, but for some unknown reason you just cannot get yourself to avert your eyes. That and the clips of Cameron amps that I’ve heard range in sound from ‘really’ good to ‘extremely’ good. But there are a lotta amps out there that that sound ‘extremely’ good. I’ve never played a Cameron before, but several folks who have played and/or owned them have posted that while there are other amps that have equally good ‘sound’ - it comes down to the ‘feel’ of the Cameron that makes them so memorable when you play one. These folks have said that notwithstanding the high degree of clarity and string separation, they are super forgiving and ‘easy’ to play like amps with much more compression than the tone coming out of the speakers would suggest. I have no idea what goes on inside an amp while I am playing through it. I can change tubes and set bias and that’s it. But one would have to think that one (or more) of the accomplished amp builders out there would have identified whatever combination of components it is that allows an amp to retain that articulation and clarity while letting the player have that greasy, slippery ‘feeling’ under the fingers while playing.

So my question is, what other amps have you guys played that stay articulate while giving the player plenty of grease?

I hate to admit how damn tempted I was by the Vintage Modern that was listed (not sure if its still available?) I heard a few clips of those bone-stock that I thought sounded incredible. And I bet they take boost really well. Get one that’s been goosed up and ... well ... Yeah, I was tempted.

Any good amp has feel & note separation. Some more than others.
Not exclusive or unique to only one amp on the planet.
In 2008 i almost sent MC an amp. A JMP.
But i kept hearing 2 distinct but confusing narratives :

A] "MC makes the best amps on the planet"
B} "Help MC stole my amp & owes me money"

Fortunately with little or no info i didn't do anything short term & let it play out.
But i was so close im lucky not to be a MC victim.

Cornford works for me, and I’ve had a shitload of Cameron amps; Mezzabarba is solid as well. So is Bogner, Friedman, etc.

Over the years, I’ve learned that all I care about in a guitar or amp is feel. I can get pretty much anything to sound fine, but the feel (for me) is that elusive extra ingredient.
