LOL...yes, so very predictable =) the word splawn's mentioend in a thread and my name's mentioned about three times before I even get to the forum or even see the thread...now that's predicability! hahah...
no conspiracy at all...Daney calls me the splawn police all the time =) what's to admit? there's nothing to admit =) I laugh it off....cuz I think daney's an alright guy and I have no problem with him...

I have both a Splawn QR (with new clean) and JVM here. I got one from Josh. Great guy to deal with.
To me the JVM sounds better than Splawn at lower volumes and has way more tones and gain. I can't say which is better because I think it depends on the sound wanted.
The clean wins on the JVM.
The JVM can get noisy, solved with my g system gate in the loop and ISP Decimator before the amp.
I can say this, the JVM is cab dependent. Through Josh's cab (Framus front loaded with greenbacks) I was worried about the lowend not being enough. Well I took it home and hooked it up through my Splawn rear loaded with greenbacks and wow it sounds great.
I can see where people say the JVM is fizzy, but you really have to take time to tweak it to your system way more than a few minutes with it to understand how it works. To me the JVM is a winner.
Splawn vs JVM, like I said it all depends on sound wanted. If you like saturation and alot of different tones, JVM, If you are just searching for that one great defined Marshall sound, Splawn. Don't get me wrong with tweaking the JVM can do all types of Marshall sounds great.
They are just two totally different animals. Being better than the other all depends on the player's wanted sound.
I didn't really want to say much because the honeymoon with the JVM is not over yet, and tomorrow night I will get to crank both JVM and Splawn QR in a band setting.
But to me the JVM is staying so far.
I just want to take the time to thank Josh for taking time out to let me play with a few amps and really being a stand up guy. Now I want that Frenzel, Josh!!! GAS!!! That is one bad ass little amp.
