Anyone ever dealt with Zachary Guitars?

Expensive strings are the literal dumbest thing on planet earth

Every brand of strings is made in like 2 factories, then given different branding

It's so fucking dumb lol
I thought it was funny when he said he is "tired of his strings making other guitars sound better". If he could demonstrate that, why not just go into the guitar string business and eat up market share. If that many people believe "your" strings are superior...run with it!

Oh man, don’t tell me that.
I’ve been enjoying Stringjoys pure nickels.

Must be a placebo effect…

The set of Stringjoys I tried sounded way different than anything else.

Almost like a set of acoustic strings for electric, but in a good way. Really cool.

I shot out lots of different brands.

I used DAddario for years but swapped to roto yellows a couple years back on most of my guitars. They have a nice upper mid thing going on that I like.

Hey man, if the placebo effect works and you like them? More power to ya

I buy the NYXLs, and they're more expensive than other ones as well, so i'm guilty of it too
NYXL’s are fantastic strings as well. I use them too.
I find those pure nickels tame the brightness of my tele a little.

TGP turned me onto Curt Mangans, I like those as well.

Just buy Thomastik Power Brights and call it a day 😁

Guy apparently having a breakdown. What is bad in selling strings?

Ah, artisans of all types are usually a little strange 😂

Over at the jazz guitar forum the european guys are all about those Thomastik swings. Apparently they are more available (and affordable) overseas than here. Their flats run premium dough. I'd try them but they are expensive and they don't make an extra thin set. LaBella has the slinkiest flatwounds on the market 9-39 so I buy those and replace the 9 and 11 with a 10 and a 12.

Man, haven’t used flats in years but loved the feel of them under my fingers.

I'd have to dig it up again to verify, but I think I saw that D'Addario actually makes their own stuff in-house so there could be a real difference there. Agreed though that most strings brands aren't much more than different packaging.

They interviewed the D’Addario guy on Tone Talk and I’m pretty sure you’re correct in regards to them building in house.
