I'm kinda getting to the point where my addiction is getting into recovery. I ordered 2 amps and a guitar 6 months ago that are just now showing up but I have had no interest in anything else.

Kinda preoccupied with my health right now not that I'm in bad health but I'm trying to lose the flub I put on the past couple years with covid

At the moment it's slowly fading. But yes for the past few years I haven't been in a band and have two little ones. Been listening to Sturgill Simpson's new bluegrass album of covers of his own songs and that inspired me to learn his tunes and start playing again.

Made the decision to stop cycling through gear like crazy and grab a few guitars I really want that will help me make music. Also got a new interface and some 3" Genelec monitors. Still will definitely flip some gear if I find good deals but I'm mostly digital for now until I start playing live again.

Covid kicked my ass . I couldn’t play guitar for like 3 weeks . Nuts

No. Once i found a guitar i really like, i lost interest. High prices and the craigslist selling experience have made me think twice before buying something. If i were gigging, perhaps i’d be more interested in gear

Nope. Not at all. I play more than I ever look for gear. In fact, I "shop" for gear. I may hit the classifieds here, but I dont search Reverb or eBay for anything.

My thing used to be amps...had 2 guitars that I liked and all I needed but amps?? I wanted to try them all even though no matter what amp I had...I'd use my ghetto rack for gigging, practicing etc..Not so much anymore....I still "look" but never hit the "buy it now" button because everything is just stupid expensive these days.. :(

This is proportionate to the size of your wallet.. SO FTMP, No..
I must say I'm envious of you true Amp Whores..

I definitely had some serious gear addiction. I had sold off ALL of my amps years ago and was strictly Axe FX. The bug hit me again and I sold my Axe FX. I am one of those people that always wonders about the grass being greener and bought every amp at once I was curious in to try. I sold everything that didn't blow me away and it killed almost all of my GAS. I just put a deposit down on 1 more head and another guitar but realistically think a few more guitars and one more amp in the future and I'll be done for a while (until the new cool thing comes along). Being able to shoot everything out against each other gave me a lot of peace of mind.

I don’t think I’m addicted to gear in the sense that I’m always looking for new stuff and wanting to buy it when I find it.

Years ago I did, however, built up a pretty expansive list of everything I wanted. It was pretty comprehensive and I’m still slowly acquiring all of it piece by piece and making good progress, so there’s effectively always something I’m looking forward to buying. But all of it is stuff I’ve wanted for a long time.

Will I keep looking for new stuff after I eventually get all of what I’m after now though? Hah, probably.
