I used to be I’d say. But not anymore. In the past 4-5 years I started to dial my guitars back from like a rotating crew of 15 to 4 solid ones. But I’d even like to cut that down to 2 or 3.

Amps, ever since acquiring my Suhr Badger 30 I’ve been just working with it. And I’ve been rewarded big time. It is a really killer amp that kicked out old Marshalls, Soldano, etc. Certainly surprised me, but I think it’s in part to my tastes changing a bit too.

So as of October 25, 2021, no.

I was when guitar driven music was relevant. Now it's bout da beatz... ya feel me?

No.

Tone chased for a number of years, which did lead to GAS and whatnot - ended up where I started (more or less) - so no. Got no cravings whatsoever. Nada.

My kit is beyond me - and thus, I need to play more, and more, and more...and more. Buying more won't make me a better player. Playing more will make be a better player.

How dare you bring smart thinking and common sense into this..

I will say that I much rather have a gear addiction vs the addictions I've had at various points of my life. I wanna try out sex addiction at some point. It seems like a fun one.
It most certainly is. But then again, there can always be too much of a good thing. Eventually it becomes monotonous and you get to the point that you would rather be playing guitar.

I believe I’m the opposite. Besides essentials like spare tubes, etc, my mantra is if a piece of gear ends up being unused more than used, I’ll sell it even if it’s rare. I’m kind of an anti hoarder.

A very sound approach. What I struggle with is the unused or under used. For example I have a pa in my music room, but only use the subs once a week. Obviously the pa and subs in particular are under used, but not sure that warrants selling them as they are getting used and I would have to replace with something for practice.

I have a 61 key keyboard that gets used for a show once a year, so not getting used much until it gets close to that Christmas show, but rest of the year it is hardly turned on.

So as I said really hard to define what unused is too much. I will go brown periods where stuff collects dust, then other periods Where it gets used a ton.

I have a bad habit of buying when I'm bored. I gig and we've been gigging this year, but I work from home and I'm in front of my computer all day everyday. so my collection goes up then goes back down when I realize I bought something I don't really need and won't use that often.
Case in point , I used to play 7's all the time for years but sold them all a few years back because we don't use them in my band.
Now I have one and another one in bound.
I also like my MIJ Charvels. the White H/S/S is one of my work horses and I don't really need the Wildcards, but they are set up so well and sound so good (brass blocks in all of them and a BK Holydiver in the bridge of the Wildcard#4(aqua)) that I can't bring myself to sell them just yet. I' hoping I find a "need" for them but the reality is I use the white one, my Jackson SL-1 and my Les Paul to cover everything I need in this band. I'm hoping to fond another band to hook up with that I can use my 7's and some of these.

Nah, I spend far more time writing and playing than I do buying gear.

The Larry cured most of my amp GAS tbh

It's hard to justify buying anything when THAT is sitting in the music room.
Maybe when my Larry comes that’s the end for me lol

Exactly.
Same here.
Answer is no.
Perfectly said.

That said, I am still somewhat addicted to watching other people being addicted and their Classified Ads and NADs.

It is a sickness :D

I think once I got my Splawn+Rectoverb+pedals rig dialed in it killed a lot of GAS. Now I need to focus on playing more.
