To me it is.What is the actual difference? Is marmite less salty?
I have had Marmite at some point but I can't really remember what it was like. Sort of like Bonox from memory but it's been too long.To me it is.
You poor thing'cause we didn't have Vegemite there.
We have marmite here, but not vegemite (could probably find it at a specialty store) I actually don't mind marmite on toast. To me it is.
Yup, it's "standard" in the UK, S. Africa and the US. Don't know about NZ or Canada. Vegemite's probably only found in boutique "country-specific" stores. We have marmite here, but not vegemite. I actually don't mind marmite on toast.
I prefer vegemite on hot baked fresh bread with butter because it tastes yeasty so it's a perfect compliment to bread. I don't really like the beefy flavour of bonox/marmite. It's overpowering in terms of the taste of the underlying bread. However, it's what you're used to - I get that.Yup, it's "standard" in the UK, S. Africa and the US. Don't know about NZ or Canada.
It's great on toast.
Vegemite is a bit like flouride. A little bit is good for you but 1kg at once might kill youYou misread me mate; I agree about the V & bread thing.
Fact is that I've spent way too long back in the day exploring all the options in this "genre". You wouldn't believe the variations I've found and tried.
I tend to like 'em all but those I judge more-harshly are the ones that don't pass the overdose test. You know the one - "accidentally" spread too much on your bread or toast and it turns to shit. The ones I tend to judge as best can withstand this test.
It's a good test. It's a test I "invented", approve of and recommend.
So was Crocodile Dundee. WAY more so than Quigley. That movie was set in the 1800s. I don't think you can say for certain what it was like out in the "Outback" in the 1800s.Quigley down under was utter bs
I like a good quality jam myself.Either way vegemite and Marmite fill me with ennui.
The only way I really enjoy jam or jelly is for some reason on scrambled eggs.I like a good quality jam myself.
