It was the general consensus that my first test clip came out to dark and sounded a bit far away. I did a quick clip about 15 mins ago and I think I'm getting better using this thing!! This goes to show you that you cab use this thing at night at whisper volume! My amp was on 3 whoch would get me kicked out of a club let alone a condo :D

Let me know what you like/ dislike

As with all my test clips, there is little substance playing wise because it's a test!!!

A / Bing the two this one has a ton more presence working and less hollow sounding....kind of Whitesnake sounding

i havent heard your first clip but there was definetely nothing dark about this one. while it did sound good i still hear it as slightly "far away" sounding, but thats not necessarily a bad thing!

Brother pat!!

I figured out why all my clips sound Hollow and far away!!
(pays to read the freaking manual !!)

I was recording all of my clips in stereo without knowing it. When I record in stereo and multi track tracks and start panning the tracks, I get some weird phase cancellation (at least I do with my rig!!)
I'm going to set my recordings to mono and double track another clip tomorrow!! Should produce more of what I am looking for!!

it sounds a bit like fuzzy, and distant to me. But it's an improvement. I've never experienced an Axetrak personally, but I would love to, so I couldn't recommend you ways to improve. Is this one guitar track ghosted to two sides, or is it two recordings separate?

Honestly Ralph, I think that's the Powerball's natural voicing. I mean, you're still using the PB, right? Every PB clip I've heard sounds fairly distant. Try recording your Mark III the same way and see what the results are like. Now, if you're gonna tell me you used a different amp, I'd have to say it's your mic placement then. :P

I like this sound better but I am sure that I was doing something wrong. I have never had good results with stereo recording. Im going to try it another way and see if the results are better!

You still using the EMU?? I can't remember if the default is stereo or not but I can swear that I had to click the stereo button on the channel to go stereo.

Listening to Zorran right now.....best Uber clip I have ever heard and he is using a Palmer

Sup bro!

I didn't hear the other clip, so I can't compare the two. I think it sounds good (heavy  ), but a little boxy and choked. Sounds like you're micing a speaker inside a box. ;) :D Just the inherent characteristics of iso cabs, I guess. I've experimented with a few designs of my own and they sounded similar. Honestly, dude, you rock no matter what..so we're just splitting hairs here.
