For those of you with CE-1 clones, how the fuck do you set up the preamp and level?
I can’t seem to get a happy medium where the preamp isn’t getting in the fucking way.

And if I use the low preamp setting, my dumb foot hits the switch to high. It looks like Warm handles this by moving the preamp switch to the left of the pedal.
PastFX - it’s above one of the footswitches

No best but I'd start here -

Providence Anadime ADC-4
Vahlbruch Chorus V2 (if you can find one). Best footswitch on a non Boss pedal I've ever seen.
Boss CE-2 Waza
Boss CE-2

Also check out PastFX's chorus offerings, tons of options and quick turnaround from the land down under.

Man I’ve owned so many and there really are a ton of good ones. It definitely matters how it’s being used (fx loop with high gain, front of amp for cleans, etc). Aman gets mentioned a lot but I find them kind of boring sounding. Waza boss is cool for the old school sound but not quite as good. The original ce1 and ce2 are cool if you’re trying to sound like the smiths but again they really aren’t all that great as a utilitarian chorus, for me at least. The Providence Anadime is one of my favorites but that mix knob has to be kept really low. Diamond Halo is another favorite- bonus points for the built in phaser which is quite impressive on its own
