Have you ever had to respond to texts about other gigs in between songs? Phone and tuner MUST be separate.
Right on just saying for me a priority would be having tuning I'm comfortable with key word...... comfortable.

Clip ons just don't do it for me in that sense.

I just don't look at a tuner the same way I do a nice pair of shit kickers when you say "comfort".

Yeah I mean I kind of do in that sense tuning is a foundation of any guitar along with tuning stability/inotation and well for me coming from a Turbo Tuner it's something I didn't realize until I got one.

It really improves playing and helps ones foundation overall too when you look at it from that perspective and come from that understanding IMO or at least for me I appreciate it more and look at it from that point of view.

So say I'm tuning, and my wife calls. What then? Please her, or get the dang guitar tuned? The cell phone stuff is just complicating matters. I don't want to try and juggle days of our lives and hitting the Bb right at the same time, I'll have a coronary.

Alright, how's about testing this? Here's 5 clips I recorded of my electric guitar unplugged. Some have the Peterson clipped on, some don't. Which are which?

Blind test is teh destroyer of Tee Gee Pee worlds.

I don't really care about tuners, but is anyone else's mind boggled that it's a quarter of a century after the turn of the millennium? I remember smoking pot in my car with a friend on New Years Eve of 1999 and having a cop knock on my window telling me I needed to move my car and that he didn't really gaf about the pot only the fire zone because the world was about to end. Did anyone else's VCR explode?

Last one for tonight. 5 clips. Some are recorded after detuning my guitar than tuning to pitch with my favorite phone app. The others were after tuning up with my Peterson clip-on. Which are which?

Yeah but did you remove the tuner before making the recorded strum?

My Fender is mediocre.
D'Addario is good and lives on my classical G.
Peterson is best and what I use instead of my Peterson Strobostomp mini lol.

Point of interest: the strobo CLiP HDC has a rechargeable battery. The HD has a replaceable coin-cell. My preference is the coin-cell model 'cause I'm biased against stuff with built-in batteries.

That's a really good point. I forgot that I even had the choice when I got this lil guy. Yeah, it's USB-C, which is fine by me.

Now imagine trying to put a quick tune on your tuner but your phone is also low on juice and you are waiting on an important consference call from your record company. Not the time you want to be fumbling around with rechargeable stuff and super long USB cables.

Are... are we trying to say clip on tuners ruin your plugged in tone now? Really?

You all need to take your preamp covers off your amp and stare at your tubes for a little while.

Doesn’t matter. Only clips that are accurate are actually done WITH an iPhone… so test is void.

Once you remove the tuner from your signal chain it's like taking a blanket offa da speakers. Virtually none of the greats used an inline tuner on their most famous tones. Now you know the secret.
