My ESP Katakana. I feel like the neck on this exact guitar is sunk in a little deeper into the body than other SV’s I’ve played. It plays effortlessly.

I don't own one, but probably a Tyler I played many years ago. Was really blown away. But the prices never made sense, and I just play LPs these days.

Major Charvel guy, but this has become my favorite! Les Paul axcess.

Single coil:

1. My '66 Custom Tele. I was at Norman's and they were bringing me a bunch of great guitars, but after 3 hours of trying stuff I went right back to the Tele. By far the best Fender I've ever played.

2. My Danocaster. The above Tele became the standard, and my Dano comes extremely close to being as good. As close as I've found, anyway.

Humbucker:

1. My '81 Les Paul Custom. It's like the neck was made for my hands, nice slim taper, really well worn in.

2. My '80 Ibanez Artist. Perfect neck profile, great balance for its weight. I've owned it since '95, and it's one of only a few guitars I'll never get rid of.

Honorable mention: EVH Wolfgang. I've got two Specials and two Standards, and they're the most consistent feeling guitars I own. Even the cheap ones feel well made.

my Yaron 59 replica, now sold, felt perfect straight out of the box.
Then Tylers and Andersons.

That I don’t own, a USA Schecter I played while on vacation in Rome.

That I do own, a homebrew Dinky with a Musikraft neck that I bought out of the showcase, I didn’t spec it myself, it was just a good deal. It just happened to be perfection.

i believe mines an 84 too. i know Carvin gets a lot of shit, i never understood why though based on mine, it rips
I’m in the Carvin club too! I have a 1992 DC145 that is without a doubt, the best playing guitar I’ve ever played or owned. A short scale shredder…Kahler Steeler trem, tung oiled neck that is still super straight with original frets and you can set the action so low it’s ridiculous! Those guitars up to 1993 are hidden gems..

The suhrs I've had have been effortless to play, the tom andersons ive had were great too. That said, I've got a few warmoth builds Ive done myself that I feel are every bit as good, at least for e so I moved the suhrs and andersons on to keep the warmoths. I've got a couple les paul customs as well that I can offer no complaints... For acoustics, my guild D55 and F55 are that best ive ever tried.

IME by far Marchione. It’s like a talent booster. Not even close for anything else I’ve tried. One of my friends especially became a different player when he tried mine. I told him I didn’t know you could play like that and he didn’t either lol. I do like Tao’s a lot too though

I used to be a huge Charvel fan and had this one aged nitro custom shop that was the best playing I tried, my favorite super strat I tried at the time by far, but then I brought it in to this local store with 2 Marchione’s to see if they were legit and from then on I knew I needed one and listed that Charvel for sale lol. Anderson’s and Suhr’s are nowhere near this level imo and tonally sound like just another choked poly finish guitar to me. Same with Mayones, but a bit better IME
I have two Suhr's that would disagree with you.

If you tried these Marchione's I think you'd see what I mean. I've tried at this point over 20 different Suhr's, a similar amount of Mayones's, lots of Anderson's and 6 different Marchione's, and as obsessive gear head have just in general owned and tried 100's of different guitars over the years from a really diverse range and my opinions always come from a place of doing my homework comparing any item I form an opinion on with some solid benchmarks before jumping to overhyping stuff

I've played some Suhr's that were quite good for what they were vs most of their typical guitars, but none that I would put anywhere near the 6 Marchione's I've tried if I'm being totally honest. We all have our opinions, but to me it's another level (or 2) and my friends I've shown the Marchione's to agreed and one of those friends is the owner of Chelsea Guitars in NYC for over 30 years, the other has worked there for many years. They've had Suhr's (quite good ones I tried there too imo) among many other cool guitars in the store. In general I find most non-vintage guitars very uninspiring/boring sounding vs good vintage guitars, but Marchione, Tao, Deimel and one or 2 other luthiers I can think of have been exceptions due to some unique things they do. But of those guitars I love, Marchione is still to me above anything else I've tried so far for sleek playability. Those others are no slouches either, but are keepers really for their sound as the reason I keep any gear item I love

Suhr standard, that was sitting used in a local shop with a $1500 price tag. It was out of reach for me at the time, sadly.

Suhr for sure.
My old Peavey HP Special Carve Top has some serious mojo and plays like a dream.
And my Ibanez JS guitars are super comfy and play real nice.

believe it or not this $229 Affinity has a lot of mojo and i gig it quite often.
I get very strange looks from other players when they see me plugged into a Rambler
If i plug in into my old Bandit 75 no one even looks.

Pretty much anything made by Tom Anderson.

Anderson guitars feel so perfect it's almost like you're reaching right into CAD and playing the mathematical representation of the guitar as opposed to something made of real material. Their neck profiles feel great, they have excellent stainless steel frets and whatever super-fine grain satin finish they put on their necks has as little friction as anything I've played. They kind of do feel like they play themselves.

Suhr also makes great feeling guitars if you find one spec'd the way you like.

I am in 100% agreement here. I have five and they all play and feel the way you described it. My first is still my #1. I plan to have it broken down and used in the making of my coffin when I die!(y)
