That's wise.

It's true that for the price of a new MCII with shipping and taxes, i can buy 2 new High end amps in europe ! that's need serious reflexion.

For the Bray, i didn't notice this on YT vids... Do not know in real

I'll try and test how vintage those tones sound on the MCII's rhythm channel
I've been using the lead channel mostly, which dished out some classic AC/DC tones at lower gain settings. The gain control is really sensitive on that amp

You can't really rely on YT clips to be an accurate representation of ANY amp. You don't know how the amp was eq'd, how the mic was placed, if there was any further eq'ing, etc. Clips can give you a general idea, but that's about it.

IMO, of course.

What happened to the Mojave Peacemaker? That was the hotness for a while.

In the case of the bray, it really does sound like it does in the clips. It's not overly bright in any way. You can use the treble volume and bass channel volume to blend to your tastes as channels are jumped. It's not a dark bass heavy modern rock/metal Amp if that's what someone means by it being bright. Everyone that plays mine loves it and asks where to get one, no shit.

You want a plexi-style amp and a boost. Metro, Suhr, Ceriatone, Marshall, whatever. Get you a good 4-holer and a boost pedal and you
should be happy. Listen to the YT Henning clips, too!

Yup. I use a Marshall JTM45 and a Bogner Red. Stunning tones.

There was a guy selling a JTM45 on local CL for $800 a couple weeks ago. Stupid price. Almost bought it.

- Bogner: I know the sound, I know limits and possibilities, sell value not so bad. But I tought I could find a best choice as bogner sound is not completly what i 'm searching.
As far as the XTC goes (no clue on the 20th's though) the closest channel to what the Wizard does is the Blue channel. Just imagine the Blue channel without the blanket and more gain. Thats what you get with the Lead channel without the boosts. It's just big, fat, punchy and clear. The Modern Classics are "vintage voiced" higher gain.

Like I said earlier, the Rhythm Channel is AC/DC Highway to Hell, the lead channel (without the boosts) is Back in Black. If you are good at using your gtr vol control and adjusting your pick attack etc, you can cover tons of ground with these amps.

I played in a cover band that played all kinds of material using mine. The majority of the time was just the lead channel. For straight up blues, something else might be better but those tones are of zero interest to me.

Thx all, for your answers ! that s really help me

After days, where I listen to videos, dozen of amp brand and review, read topics and of course your advises... well..........

tanlanlanalna SUSPENSE ....

I decide to go with a MCII !!! That was my first idea and i always be a gambler !!

Anyways, i will post a review as soon as i ll get it (probably in few weeks).

I ve to choose now my futur cab ( speaker ...)

Creamback vs greenback vs Greenback Heritage ...

I would go either Greenback Heritage (which would give you only 80 watts) or Creamback if you want the Greenback sound and higher power handling
My cab is loaded with Heritage G12H(55) which is one of Rick's listed options on the Wizard website
Of course, it sounds pretty awesome
As for the Alnico Gold well, it's really expensive, but it just can't be beat for those vintage cleanish tones

I bet a Creamback X pattern would sound great in a 4x12" cab with the Modern Classic II: two G12M-65 Creambacks and two G12H-75 Creambacks

Hold the boat, if you are trying to decide on which speakers or cab to go with, look no further than our forum's own specialist RICHEDIE! I am pretty sure greenbacks and lynchbacks are still on top.

I wonder if Celestion is rebranding the G12H-75's and slightly tweaking the highs and calling it a day? I do like the sound of those 75's as well. They are tight.

Oh, and for my own uses, I have a RI greenback/ weber legacy 4 x 12 and i don't know what it is, but this thing is smoking these days now that i have sufficiently broken in all speakers. (Webers on top)

Again I'll be an ass and say that mixing magnet sizes is never a good idea
3dB difference doesn't sound like much, but one will be about 20-25% louder than the other
Unless you're always playing at lower volumes...

will be hard to make a choice ...

Alnico gold... some said that they smooth too much.

Creanback never try, never heard but a lot of people advise me to go for it

Why not

Alcino gold X cream back G12H75 ? ( each in 100dB)

or

Cream back G12M65 X Greenback heritage G12M

I think i need something that could fit with clean light and mid crunch with a vintage feel not too bright.

Anyways RICHEDIE is welcome to advise ! ;)

Mixing a Creamback with a regular Greenback sounds kinda pointless, since it'll result in the same total wattage for the cab. (Unless you want to go for the cheaper Creamback)
Are you getting the 50 or 100 watt version?
If you're planning on cranking it, you'll want at least a 100 watt cab for the 100 watt head

100w MCII ...

ALnico Gold X Creamback G12H75

maybe a good idea ?

If you're buying the MCII from Rick at Wizard, have you asked him for his suggestion as to what speakers would pair up best with it?

3 choices for Rick: Creamback, Greenback heritage , Alnico gold and any combinaison of it ...

So, don't be shy to give your thoughts

Anyone have clips of a Wizard MTL actually doing high gain stuff?? Seems like everyone in the YT videos is trying to be Angus Young.

With one cab I'd go with 4 creambacks and call it done. You will like it.

Alnicos would not be my first choice.
