I often wonder how many forum members would act, speak & post the way they do if they couldn't hide behind a screen name. My guess is not many.
I must have struck a nerve.ubermetaldood":of23j5pm said:You're a big mouth prick and the only reason you do it is because you get to hide behind your computer. I didn't even read your bullshit post because it was plain to see that you are a petty little fool with a big mouth and a little dick which you overcompensate for by trolling the forums. You're not the one who got ripped off so just sgut your big mouth already. Then again, perhaps your life is so pathetic that your only sense of satisfaction is trying to impress a little mob of imbeciles on the Internet. You have nothing worthwhile to offer anyone, and your shit posts make it obvious that you are worthless as a forum member and as a person. Maybe your Mama will still love you, butni's probably your daddy that you long for the most attention which is why you prance around in queer garb and sit around on the Internet trolling people's trade related posts to make yourself a nuisance. It's the negative attention your daddy never gave you that drives you to be a pesky little presence in online communities. I don't feel sorry for you though because you are just a weak little coward with a big mouth. Maybe the little liberal mob still holding grudges from previous political off-topic disputes might come to your defense or join in the imbecile mob, but to anyone with intelligence, you are just showing us what a little prick you are.

But you just work them out. I coughed up some cash several times to make piece and vice versa. When you 'know' your dealing with a hot head no listen person.....its a tough call.
But Like I know and have said that "INSURANCE IS PURCHASED FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE"
Not that hard. If someone is unwilling to work with a insurance claim......well then thats their fault.
I was a Claims clerk for several years with the Postal Service. It is a pain in the ass. But bitching and whining about it does absolutely nothing to fix the problem.
Wish both these guys the best of luck on solving this. But it is not one guys fault when one side is willing to work it .

Nobody wants to help out a guy who's actively threatening their safety and calling them a prick at the same time.

So here is a guy who seems to have a legitimate complaint. As an owner of two Diezels I can attest to the fact that their PCBs are military grade stuff. What strikes me the most about his claim is that he didn't say there was broken tubes or loose components or even a scratch of any sort. For a single tube socket to go bad during shipping is an astronomical possibility in my opinion. Considering he made no complaints about the preamp tubes makes it that much more unlikely that it could be attributed to shipping damage.
It sounds like JC986 has some questions yet to answer and I think they are worth investigating.
For example, why isn't he willing to return Ubermetalguy's amp? It sounds like JC986 took a really nice amp for himself and left Ubermetalguy between a manufacturer who doesn't even have to honor a warranty and a tech he has to pay in another county. I'm sorry to say but if this doesn't raise a red flag then there must be some weird forum-wide cover up.
Why doesn't JC986 insist that FedEx is to blame? It would seem to me that if the recipient suspected anything wrong with shipping then he would have said something about it when he unpacked it. Obviously he didn't have any reason to suspect package mishandling. He said he opened the box, played it, and noticed a problem and then asked the previous owner if he knew about the problem. Nothing in his correspondence could lead one to believe that the problem was caused in transit.
I think this is a very important thread for traders. Unfortunately the behavior of the OP seems to have attracted some highly opinionated participants whose functions in the thread still isn't clear and appear only to serve to beat the OP down. That kind of posting is like beating an injured dog since the OP since the OP seems to have already gotten reamed in a pricy deal.
I guess one post that went unnoticed or perhaps ignored was fromthe moderator who apparently booted the furious OP. You would expect more objectivity than that moderator injecting his own experience as if in defense of 9C986. What the connection between the moderator and JC986 is I don't know, but if he is going to ban a member then it's probably best to refrain from offering opinions that might influence some people. One could question the motive since that moderator just got rid of JC986's problem.
People seem like they are starting to catch on to JC986's apparent deception but the OP seems to have been abandoned in this process. His behavior was certainly hostile but it's not right to treat him as is he deserves it and to let JC986 off of the hook.
I have been in similar situations before on both ends and I've never seen an honest trader so quick to wash his hands in a situation like that. Ubermetalguy might be the forum's biggest deal but someone worthy of hate is a guy who steals, and that's exactly what it looks like JC986 did. From my perspective it looks like Ubermetalguy pulled through their deal very satisfactorily and JC986 did not.
What will come of this Ubermetalguy now that he's been wiped, and what does that mean for any of us who take issue with a bad trader? It seems rather cruel and unjust to scrub him in and block his access to a resolution from a problem another member of this forum caused. I'm not sayinUbermetalguy to like Ubermetalguy but it really bothers me that such a blatant trade violation by JC986 slips by. How many of you want to trade your gear for a dud that sucks up your money and time?
JC986 has some tough questions to answer and in my opinion should show some integrity in this situation and give the guy his gear back. In the least HE should be the one taking care of the repairs instead of making the other guy troubleshoot, get parts and quotes, excetera.
There's my opinion popular or not but fair.

I'm interested in your connection to JC986. Why do you defend him when as a moderator you should be more objective? Furthermore, it seems to have already been established by that there was no shipping damage. Don't you think you are missing the point that if the recipient had any reason to believe there was mishandling he would have mentioned it after unboxing?
I'm sorry but this activist and biased moderation is a huge reason why trade has gone down hill on other forums. I think you need to step back and leave your opinions out of it unless you are willing to apply them equally to both sides. So far, I've seen you defend the perpetrator yet ban the victim and still inject capitalized opinions after the fact.
You should keep in mind that Ubermetalguy honored his side of the bargain. It's not like Ubermetalguy is the one in question here. If JC986 put a working amp in his hands then this thread would never be. Think about that.
You dont seem to get it. It could of happened to either side.HeftyMetalGuitar":2q6rmzoh said:Mailman1971":2q6rmzoh said:Exactly! Just be willing to work with people instead of threatening them. Goes alot further.

Thank you.paulyc":3ac6oacd said:ubermetalguy posted the other guy's address for everyone on a public forum to see (which was removed, because I didn't see it but there are references to it in this thread, I'm assuming the moderator removed it) and threatened him with physical violence, the other guy may or may not have shipped him a damaged amp, only HE knows if he did or not...he's stated he didn't...I don't know if that's true, but coming in here guns blazing never seems to work out for anybody. I think if uber hadn't been so animated and just gave the facts he wouldn't be on a break right now... so I don't think the moderator is out of line, I never saw the other guy get out of control...he was calm and offered solutions, maybe uber didn't LIKE the solutions he was offered, but there was communication going on...
