Didn't watch the vid because I'm not a fan of seeing people die but if that's indeed what happened in the video, charveldan should be banned, and I don't mean the idiotic "bant" where you put someone on your ignore list. A point can be made without exposing people to seeing something they cannot un-see.

Not exactly. That amp was sold to a paying customer and had clearly unsafe bare wires that could have gotten someone electrocuted. Maybe it isn't to you, but to me that is a BIG fucking deal. That said, it is one isolated case and everyone makes mistakes, especially starting out, so I see no need to vilify the guy over one he made. No one got electrocuted (luckily for him) and the amp was put right by the owner.

Also, I don't think it is a good idea to sell amps with cup holders on top, or to sell amps with a chassis that doesn't have any structural integrity, but the buyer can determine if that matters to them or not.

I can't really see enough detail to tell for sure, but from what I can see, the newer builds look fine.

The produced clip sounds really good to me (although as Bob says they don't sound like the original recordings because for the most part they are using a lot more gain).

Iff there is any backlash against Blades, it is the story on that one amp and the way he handled it and the way he's comported himself on the forums at times...

Anyway, more power to the guy. He seems to be making good connections and getting some notoriety in the guitar world.

As far as the whole Blades fiasco goes, it was my understanding that people didn't have a problem with the tone, or even the crappy prototype for that matter but the issue that supposedly he 'stole' some of the famous schematics off the SLOclone forums and then pushed that fact in everyone's faces on various forums (mainly marshallforum and metro forum). Basically screw those other guys, I'll make you an amp much cheaper.

Jim Marshall never built a single amp not ever... didnt design or build anything its a fact he didnt know electronics he was a business man who got others to copy ideas from fender.

If you guys havent read this stuff, I urge you to do some research before you drink the kool-aid.If you arent bothered by what you read...more power to you, but I believe most business owners have more sense than to post on a public forum in an unprofessional manner. I personally would never buy an amp from him, just based on some of the things he has said and the way he has avoided answering questions in a straight forward manner concerning the "prototype" amp that started this whole mess.

That is why I think that the whole Billy Blades amp thing is a joke regardless if they sound good or not. But, I have to give him kudos for doing what he said he was going to do regardless of the outcome!!!

Billy did post threads about other popular builders stealing designs (mostly Jose mods) and then say that he is doing the exact same thing. I dunno if this was the root cause of the BB backlash, but it seemed to rub some people the wrong way. The gut shots didn't help either.

I usually find myself in most situations rooting for the underdog, but in the case of blades, it is very difficult. he has stirred up so much shit online and treated so many people so poorly it would be hard to support him. Half the time he did it I don't even know why, there was no reason at all??
does he have investors? did someone say he is not building them? he must be giving them out in some cases for free or paying for endorsements. it almost seems like he has to be, to me, the amps look like a childrens toy. the bright multi colored headshells are an eyesore, the fire bolts and a cup holder? it seems like something you would see in spinal tap or an 80s spoof? he just needs to make the controls go up to 11.
I saw the himmel, "best amp in the world," video. that's a big statement. out of any amp ever made, the blades is the best. wow! is blades paying him for the endorsement? does he actually believe that?> I am just curious. I really want to know. I would like to hear the amp in person.
