That is why I think that the whole Billy Blades amp thing is a joke regardless if they sound good or not. But, I have to give him kudos for doing what he said he was going to do regardless of the outcome!!!

Regarding the other part of your comment, yeah, i'm all for someone following through with a dream or a goal or whatever you want to call it. I'm sure most guys would have done it in a different manner, but I suppose negative publicity is still publicity? :confused: I must say though, that these are some of the ugliest amps ive ever seen. I mean....really ugly.
 
I think the amps are gorgeous, plus there's a hole to spit my tabacky.

It should be disturbing. That's what happens when you ground out 2300 volts.
All you home grown amp tech poking around inside ur amp cuz some forum dewd told you to should take note.
Same thing will happen to you but on a smaller scale.
I grounded out 460 volts in 1988 and I don't recommend that.
It gave me a healthy respect of what not to do.

Good! Can we please also take care of a few of the other guys with the constant nasty ugly personal attacks? Really gotten out of hand lately and downright ugly and disgusting
 
I am not quick to ban people as thats the culture here but when it needs to be done I do it. I take each one as i find it. Also CharvelDan is not on permanent ban, he has been warned and if when he is allowed back he acts the same way then he will be asked to leave for good. Same goes for all members.
 
Charveldan's posts are irritating and funny at the same time. Honestly though, this forum would be better without him.
 
If CharvelDan loves Freidman, that's all good, so many GREAT amps out there. I promoted SPLAWN since 2002 till last year, another great amp company. But I had to leave because my heart and soul said I had to leave.... I bought one of Billys first FIREBOLTS as he just started his company.
Im here because we all learn, we all grow, I made a ton of mistakes as we all do in life.
BLADES tone is fantastic, he says their is room for everybody on the top.
Billy and I are TONE lovers as most on this thread. I cant live here as I rarely come here, but Im getting PM's with people hearing the tone and loving what Billy's doing. Seeing Brad come to this thread, makes me feel like their is hope for RIG TALK, that we can all rock n roll in a positive light instead of hating.....turn your TONE UP!!!!! Im gonna go play guitar ;)
Wanted to share this, whether you HATE it or dig it lol... Mike Himmel wanted a "Bare Bones" cab, this is it, why???? You might ask?
Eddie Van Halen had cabs like this and its genius...Billy did NO TOLEX, and NO speaker covers cause the speaker covers take off the top end frequencies of the tone (even if its a few DB), tolex can dampen it as well, Billy went old school EVH style to where these X-Pattern WGS speaker loaded MONSTER cabs sound FRICKIN amazing!!! I personally think Im SOLD on WGS speakers...period. What I heard at Nashville NAMM was simply mind blowing, the BEST tone I have heard, unless I was beside Eddie at Sunset Sound Recording Studio's, Hollywood Califiornia 1978 (VAN HALEN 1), wish everyone a great night! <img src="">

So which WGS speakers are you using in the X pattern of the Blades cabinet ?
 
I just wish he'd lose the "bling" in the design and make a more stripped down cosmetic version for those of us that don't want a firebolt on our head cabs and gold knobbies... amp sounds good, wiring looks good to me as well. So what speakers do they put in an x pattern?
 
The more aggressive, mid-heavy growl from some of the videos he put up before sounded more to my liking than the '80s style cock-rock stuff in the latest demo vids. I don't play EVH or Ratt or whatever that stuff is. I need tight, angry, pissed off growl with zero fizz. And some of the tones he was getting in those earlier clips were spot on for that.

btw, I expressed my concerns to Billy in reference to the cup holder... Billy said that he will construct a head cabinet without the cup holder. If you don't want the cup holder, just ask him to leave it out. He's a super cool guy, and will build the amp the way you want it.

Why don't you put your money were your mouth is and really buy one? Then you can show us the build quality, etc. and share some clips.
