Here's what I don't understand...sometimes I get the Blizzard at DQ with Reece's cup. Why can't I get JUST the peanut butter filling? What is that shit made of? It's like crack. And I've tried buying the Reese's peanut butter, it's not the same.

Yes Bob, that's how it works... You see, if you don't have copyrights on your music, it is unprotected, hence it can be stolen. :student:

I've heard your hair-metal era guitar stylings... I recall it was a video with you and Steve Henning? My drummer and I were laughing our asses off!  It was like watching MTV circa 1985, only the images weren't pleasant to look at. You should do another one of those, just for the comedy relief. For what it was, I thought Steve was/is the better player.

I'm doing my best, but I'm going to need more support to break my 75 page record at TGP. You're a great crowd, not nearly as difficult as TGP... Now those are some savvy posters!

You haven't got the foggiest idea about copyrighting music, otherwise you wouldn't be claiming it's the reason you don't have your music out there. It's very simple, besides, you're flattering yourself if you think you're doing something so unique that it's going to be outright stolen. There's nothing new under the sun.

As far as my playing, yeah man, I totally suck but at least I've got the guts to put it all out there.

As a recording artist who creates original music, I need to get my hands on the best tools possible to expand my art. If I were to base my conception of great tone on what an eccentric builder said on an internet forum, I'd be a lesser musician for it. I have not played using that much gain in a long time, but hearing the Blades Firebolt (in both pre and post production) has motivated me to reconsider. I would at least like to experiment with some multi-tracking... To my ears, Billy has built a great sounding amplifier. If the Blades Firebolt is good enough for legendary music producer Michael Wagener, than it's good enough for me.

Any links to your CD's/ albums? Would be interested in hearing them.
I had one track posted here on RT last year, but I removed it. I sent samples to Steve Ouimette last year, and really liked them. He recommended that I do not post unprotected original music on the internet. I'm compiling music to send to Crucial next year - hopefully. I've gotten lazy, and I don't feel as inspired as I once did. Most say it sounds like Pink Floyd with a harder, more modern edge to it... My cousin says it sounds like Pink Floyd meets Tool. :dunno:

I've got originals that I wrote back in the mid 80's, but those are straight-up rock/metal. I used a ESP Mirage, into a Ibanez TS9, into a Rockman rack setup into a board for those... IMO, they still hold up well.

hey, I know you speak with blades. I saw in a post he put up that he has quite a bit of copyrighted music. I would actually be interested to hear it, ask him for me please if it is posted somewhere online. thanks!

because to my ears the Blades Firebolt stomps the shit out of a Soldano SLO100 - no question about it!

Ok now you have crossed a line you will never return from and your opinion has absolutely no value at all now!
this is the craziest statement i have ever heard about a blades amp
Btw, i dont even own a SLO but i do know the masterpiece it is ;)

when I see proven bands & major guitarists showing up on stage with a Blades amp then I will give it more consideration. I see Friedmans as the main amp of some of my favorite players these days, along with Soldano's still to this day so that says something.

I've owned 3 x SLO100's... The effects loop is poorly placed, and I don't care for 6L6 tubes in a high-gain amp. Never have, never will. I think the Soldano SLO100 is one of the most overhyped, overrated amplifiers out there. They do sound great, but not the pinnacle of tone, as so many profess.

To my ears, the Blades Firebolt exhibits that Marshall-esque character that is so near and dear to my ears, and to my heart. I'm only going by clips mind you... I've never actually played a Friedman or a Blades. Per the clips I've heard, I would have to choose the Blades over the Friedman. If you disagree, than that's cool! If you don't like the Blades Firebolt - don't buy one. You people obviously base your opinion of tone of the character of the person building the amplifier... Crazy, but that's obviously the case. I base my opinion on the sound of the amplifier itself. I don't give a shit if Billy Blades likes to drive naked... As long as he can build a great sounding amp (which he does) - I'm in!

So....now you're buying one again?

How can I buy one again? I've never owned one.

I'll let you figure out the context.

I am the best guitar player on this forum.
Have 100's of hours of masterpieces on Video and CD.
I only post myself playing like a drunken hack on purpose. The good stuff will never been seen or heard by the public.

TrueTone500 is totally in bed with Blades. He refuses to listen, so we can write him off as a lost cause.

This dude is blown away by the tone. Let me tell you a few things...the fat fuck is copying Jose and Mark's stuff verbatim. The Fireball is a Jose Arredondo design. The Venom is a Mark Cameron Aldrich design. Billy Blades has come up with NOTHING in amp design. He got the basic designs from Mensur and conned him under the guise of "for personal use and NOT toward a business." The amps are clones and inferior clones at that. They only incorporate the basic preamp circuit. Further, Billy uses over the counter transformers. The "real" veteran amp designers use all custom wound varient to their specs...I do, Friedman does, Metropolous does, etc. I'm sure any one of these folks building these amp will be much better than a Blades amp...quieter, warrantied, and by folks that know what the fuck they're doing. Likewise and not only the guts, but the enclosure will be more robust and road-worth. That thin shit Billy is using will smash into pieces I'm sure if dropped. Those Green Barret speakers are horrible also and honky cheap messes. Steve had them with a Blades amp and the tone was "honky" and I said to replace the speakers (after we rebuilt the entire amp to the correct specs). He was very happy and part of the shit tone was those cheap POS speakers!

Why would anybody buy crap from Billy rather than a veteran and fully trained amp builder, technician, or engineer? Is he going to warranty it like he did Steve's (or lack there of). lol I like how Billy continues to lie and bullshit also. He acts like Wagener got #1 Fireball. What is it #1 50 watt or 100w version?? Steve got #1 and it was crap. What does he do number them indiscriminately or use it as a way of conning people....hey I'll get you #1 for free or if you purchase it for me, I'll label it #1! The gut shots show otherwise.

The guys has horrible layouts, horrible technical skills, and horrible designs. You like the "tone". It can be made better and quieter and by "qualified" people and under warranty for the same price. WHY would anyone by one from a bullshitting tattoo artist? LOL

I'll post the Firebolt layout and you can make all the Blades Firebolts you want. I'll post the gut shots of his Jose HG and Aldrich MODs also filled with cold solder joints, wrong values, incorrect mating to power sections, knobs put on soo tight when trying to removed the entire shaft came out, solder splatter, bare wires.... I don't want to see a kid or anyone electrocuted by some asshole hypocrite.

WHY you and people go to bat for a con artist I don't understand....or I do because your weak-minded and not open to accept reality. Sad. I hope you're getting paid for the endorsement(s). Pics and information coming soon!

Don't tell me people don't steal! Where are mine and my friends royalties for the slang term byotch?

You have a groovy way of providing responses that are only remotely related to the topic.

What you put out there wasn't a complete composition... That was you and Steve playing licks, with no real purpose or reason. It's what I call guitar olympics. That will be stolen from me too, just watch.

I'm surprised such a smart guy would have done so little research. I've put numerous complete compositions out there, but this is really not about me, it's about you and the silly contention that you're not willing to post your music because someone might steal it and make money from it. The fact of the matter is, you haven't a clue and you probably don't post because as a recording artist who creates original music, you don't have the guts to hear constructive criticism or any criticism for that matter. You shouldn't be ashamed though because it's really not all that uncommon.

As far as there not being anything new under the sun... That's a piss-poor attitude, and one that I won't bother addressing.

You actually don't address any points, you take little pieces of statements out of context and prop up a straw man.

Question:
- If I were to post and original composition, what would prevent someone from stealing my music?
- If I were to post the chorus to one of my compositions, what would prevent someone from stealing the lyrics?

Question:

- Are you still beating your wife?
- Do you still wipe your bottom with your bare hands?

So....now you're buying one again?

The unique, never heard tones of the Blades amp has him inspired to use high gain again. At least, until he remembers he doesn't use high gain, then he won't buy it, until he remembers he's inspired by the Blades tone, then he will decide to buy one...

Hey Truetone... do me a favor and keep your replies to 25 words or less. This is fun but it's becoming too bothersome.

Still going strong I see.

Any other pics besides that one amp that was a rats nest?

I also noticed he credits Jose on his website.

Honestly, what makes this guys work any different than Jose's?

It's all just a mod after all right? There's really no pioneer tube amp builder anymore.

Maybe the guys a nut on the forum, we all have our days. Yea he had a scuffle on a sale and produces some half ass amp that could've killed someone. Lol

But maybe his line is now clean? Idk 21 pages of shit is pretty insane.

I think you guys all secretly love the Firebolts.
