Man I don't understand RT anymore. This place has either changed or I have changed cuz this thread is so uncool and such a turn off to me. I come here because I'm trying to get better guitar sounds, learn some things, help people out when I can and make some like minded friends. Feels like all those ships have long sailed. It's sad because I feel more at home and more connected to the good people on RT then other forums but this s**t is not my speed at all. Pages of insulting someone. Hey if you don't like him or his amps don't but them, plain and simple. And to be honest I don't get into all the he said she said nonsense on any forum, I'm to busy, so I don't know the origin of all this slander on Billy and I don't care but from the few clips I heard his amp sounds fine. Buy it or don't buy it but wasting your time blasting someone on a public forum isn't making you a better guitar player or winning you any browny points.

^ This! But for some different reasons too...newer members just being personally vicious and insulting just to get a rise out of someone else. Antagonizing people as part of a game that's "fun" for this person. Rather sad really.

I have to say that the clips of the EVH, SLO and even the Blades are pre and post production BULLSHIT!!!!!! Now....I am not saying (because I have not been in a room with any of these amps) that they do not sound good.

I want to hear an I phone clip, a zoom clip for fucks sake and old vid camera. Drop the fucking crap back tracking look down between your legs and see what you have hanging there and represent. That's all...Flame away!

I cannot believe this.

Equisential safety guidelines are now taking a back seat to tonal preferences?

Supporting a business who learned to build from internet search results and stolen designs from other companies in the name of capitalism?

I cannot believe this thread is still alive. The fact RT is even giving the person who built those original monstrosities the publicity of front page on this forum.

I am saddened. RT is nothing like it was before.

It's just a handful of guys that are stinking the place up, two of which have posted several times in this thread.

He (Blades) brought it on himself and for being an asshole (poor amps that can kill people, nothing short of stealing others designs, and lying, conning, and not being a boy of his word) ...that's why he is banned from EVERY forum group (not sure why not this one). You have do be a very un-special person to pull that off!

You also don't seem to be getting the point...people are showing his comments verbatim, layouts, etc. because they want to warn other people that may be conned into spending their good hard cash on crap from and asshole. This is a BIG point for people out there that would be researching before they spend THOUSANDS of dollars or a crap product from a tattoo artist. lol

p.s. - That blue amp is again...quite horrible ugly and like Billy's tattoo. it looks like something you'd find at a Trade Center or thrift store.

When I read statements like this, I cannot help but wonder if such individuals are shilling for someone, willfully ignorant, or just protecting their investments. I have searched, but I have not found a single case where a Blades amplifier has caught fire, or caused harm to anyone? Please post a source where I can research this topic. Please submit factual, documented cases only.

There are also comments related to Billy Blades stealing designs... No designs were stolen that I can find. The Western Electric circuit matrix used in all tube amplifier designs was deemed public property decades ago. To accuse a company of stealing, and/or building devices that are unsafe (in print) without proof is libel. See info posted below...

Bruce Zinky was using dual preamp gain stage controls long before Mark Cameron or Dave Friedman. Again... Please list what design aspects of the Blades Firebolt that you claim are stolen.

What good can ever come out of it?
Do yourself a favor, just stop, buy his amp and check back 6 months later

Seems to be all about the politics to me.

Blades seems like an alright guy from talking to him and doesn't seem to be looking for enemies.

Maybe he trolled a bit idk, don't really care. Maybe he built a bad amp or two and made a huge mistake selling them. That's horrible but I'm sure he's gotten better and you won't see that happen again.

3 sides to every story. His side is he got screwed over and decided to say fuck dealing with these guys and did it himself. Weather or not who's right or wrong isn't my fight.

As true tone stated. I am sure most designs are not from the ground up and everyone has learned, borrowed or stole from someone. So be it.

These are my takeaways.

Many people hate Blades cosmetics. (One of a kind?)
I'm curious to play the Venom.
I'm not huge into the Marshall or plexi sounds but Friedman does indeed make some of the best in the world.
A thread this large bashing someone is only giving them more publicity.
Blades has big people playing his gear.
I'm still a pretty big asshole.
I love rig talk.
