Love my XTC ('07 101b). I'm wondering what everybodies favorite speaker combo is in their cabs. I have 3 cabs right now. 2 Bogners, a slant with all V30's and a straight with 2 V30's and 2 75's like an Uber cab, and a Marshall AX with Green backs. I have 2 h30's on the way. I'm debating to replace the 75's in my straight, or to add two H30's to the slant. I'm guessing here, but I have a feeling the V30/H30 in the slant would be pretty cool.

Anyway...... opinions, experiences, cheeseburger?

The newer XTC's are better than any of the older ones Ive played in the past.

It's true. This one is a lot better than my old one.

I've got 2 Splawn 4x12's...one with Greenbacks and one with G12H30's, and one Recto 4x12 with V30's. Personally, my favorite cab is the Splawn with G12H30's.

Sorry but it's required... CLIPS! ;) :D
Some day Jim. I'm really rusty right now. My mom got really sick and spent a month in the hospital, and, I havn't had an amp in about a month and a half. The entire time, I didn't play at all. :aww:

How so?

Any 101's that were made from about Aug 2004 to now have a slightly different Red Channel.

The red channel has the high gain mod standard now. But the whole amp seams to sound better overall. Especially the blue channel. A lot more usable to me.

Jason I'm soryy to hear that your mom hasn't been well. I've had some stuff going on here and it's not good when a family member isn't well. I hope she's doing better. As for amps go... well you came back to the game in style. The XTC is a world class tone machine for sure.

So it has more gain? Good. Is it still very dark? Loose?

Oh what the hell...... :D

The blue channel is incredible!!! I've got a newer version, and the amount of distortion on tap with the red channel is crazy. (Way more than I use...I keep it below 10:30)

But you can still adjust it just like before to be real chewy and organic. I was playing in half power, old style on the red channel with the volume at 2:00 tonight. My god man....

It can be dark if you dial it in that way, but the red channel doesn't really roll that way...you have to make it dark. (And yes, it has a lot of gain.)

Loose...depends on the settings and what you're looking for. I can't make the amp as tight as say my Splawn, but it is much tighter than my Road King. I can make it close to as tight as the Splawn, but it still won't get all the way there.

Yep, I kept my old red channel gain at 2:00. I can get by with it at 10:00 now on this one. Love it....

Wait. Did you post a clip? I didn't see anythin that indicated a new clip in your list of clips.

Where are you guys keeping your Pre-EQ on the Red channel? I've noticed that with the gain under 11:00, B2 is just too bright...N and B1 seem much better, and B1 also adds more gain. (From what I can tell)
