Joe is great to work with. The slot for the Carol Ann is a revolving spot, right now there is a Traiwreck, it was the East, we tried the Super Lead...The Palmers work great and cut out a lot of variables on a daily basis.

Vintage or new production Trainwreck?

Geez, if thats the worst place you have to hang out then your a lucky guy ! :D

Why carry all the EV loaded cabs if everything is sent through the Palmers? I remember him saying that they are a big part of his sound, yet they are used only for (some) monitoring purposes?

Great pic's Mike! How often did you change strings on all of those 6 bangers? What gauge and brand?

That blows my mind Mike.. Hall and Oates, to Venom, to teching for JB..thats the full spectrum. Nice San Dimas collection

I like that fact that its a simple rig... How did those Palmers work for him?

I bet about as well as they do for Alex Lifeson, which is to say awesome.

Good to meet ya in Louisville! Next time through give a shout out

NICE!

I figure the Palmers are worth looking into then!

That's a hell of a cool gig to land Mike. I wish Joe was coming to closer to Long Island on the tour so I could see him again.

I change the strings on a staggered schedule, some of the guitars are only used for one song, so I can let them go for 2-3 shows, the main workhorses get changed every two days. the gauge is 11-52 Ernie Ball.
The onstage sound of the EVs is a big part of the sound even with the Palmers.

Very cool stuff! Anything out of the ordinary or specifically wanted/needed by JB regarding the guitars' setups?

Mike - could you talk about this a bit more. I am also very curious about this, as JB strikes me a tone-junkie. The audience hears the Palmers, then? how are the palmers set? Are the cabinets producing the same massive stage volume? This is so curious to me...

Purely speculation on my part, but the EVs are known for their non-distortion changing character of the amp's tone (it's not like a greenback that actually produces additional overtones), so by bypassing them for the FOH, I think you're not missing much (the Palmers are sending the tone the amps produce to the FOH, and the EVs are doing the same onstage). Joe and the band get the tone and feel from the speakers onstage (and I'm sure at the volume he runs, some of it bleeds into the room).

Am I close? Killer gig dude - congrats!
