Hey Guys,
Here is the update, I am back on the east coast, all is progressing on the Cameron amp distribution front. Mark is going to be building the prototype CCV for production with our assembly team in California at their facility showing them exactly how he wants it done. The parts will be hand picked by Mark for the tone he wants right down to the Cameron Spec Mercury transformers.
Dave Friedman is reviewing the parts list as well and making sure everything is the best we can get for this build. I will be returning to LA on Feb 15 to meet again with the production team and to see/hear/play the CCV production prototype along with Mark, Rob and Dave. Mark will make any adjustments needed and then certify that the design is ready to go into production. From there we will launch an initial run of CCV's and I will open it up to orders once I know for sure the production and ship times.
Also we are adding a FX loop on the CCV as standard not an option as it was before with Mark. The loop is one of the best out there that Dave has been using on the Marshas.
There has been allot of speculation as to pricing of the amps. We have not set the price yet as we need to get a fully accurate assessment of cost for the materials and the production on my next meeting in a few weeks. Our goal is to bring the amp in at $3299 with the loop standard. Hopefully we can hit that target which will position the amp with all of its features and signature Cameron tone at a price point competitive with other similar featured amps out there.
As far as the talk of "they wont be same if Mark doesn't hand make each one", of course there will always be the guys that say that and I am sure back in the day they said that about Henry Ford and his cars. Fact is if your buying almost any of the high end amp lines out there someone is assembling them to the spec of the genius behind the design. That goes for Bogner, Suhr, Marshall, Mesa Boogie, etc...
Mark will be the first to tell you that the CCV's he built one by one varied quite a bit from build to build depending on what parts he could source/afford at the time. Our build will be with the best parts Mark always wanted use on his amps and than hand tuned and voiced by him on the prototype and then just repeated by the production team and hand checked by us on every unit that ships.
Should be real cool. Barring no set backs we hope to be able to get these amps built in the next 60 days. All future Cameron Amplifier orders will go through me. There is not plans for an included footswitch but the jack is universal and any a/b will work.
No options at this time, you get it tricked out in the standard price. Warranty is 1 year parts and labor (excluding tubes). Warranty is done through Tone Merchants and Dave Friedmans Racksystems shop which is one of the best in the world.
I will take no payments for these amps until I know I can deliver them with no delay and with out hassle.
More to come as I have it...
