...should be here soon! I don't post here very much at all but I can't contain my excitement any longer, Larry said we should have it end of June. I just emailed Gary (thegame, he's getting one too) to see if Larry got back to him on payment/shipping details yet.

We opted for the Scream channel in place of the British Hot Rod on ours.

I put money down before I even tried a Larry amp on Gary's suggestion of how awesome the Dino is! I'm really happy I did! I can't wait now!!

Check out these beautiful pics! Larry posted these awhile ago and I saved them.

Saw him using one with the power section of two Marshall DSLs at Hammerfest. Sounded pretty good. Congrats

I dare someone to say something negative about it. :D

Hmmmm, something negative. How bout that you have to unscrew the top panel to install/check tubes? :D I'm just kidding,  looks awesome!

Thanks!

Of course I'll provide an update once I have it in my hands!

What is the price?? and the difference between the hot rod channel and the scream??
Thanks
Bye Matte

Congrats, this thing must be badass, Schaffer was using Diezel the last time I saw him.

Hope you're doing well and that the cruise was great!
I'm writing, because recently I stumbled over a post on the Rig-Talk forums from June of 2010, where one claimed: "Schaffer was using Diezel the last time I saw him"

The cruise was a great time. It was awesome getting to hang with Blind Guardian.
I don't know what this guy is talking about, he's full of shit. The only time I've tried a Diesel was about 4 years ago in the studio. I played one for ten minutes and thought it sounded (word removed by Larry). My Dino's get used all the time, and now the preamp has been getting lots of usage as well. In fact, I'm writing the new album now and am using the preamp through a Marshall through one cabinet and a Dino through the other cabinet and the sound is KILLER!

Thanks for your quick reply!
Would you allow me, to partially quote your reply there in this topis as kind of answer to this guy?
Still another question:
What amps as for the power stage together with the preamp are you usually using or what you like best?
Jon Schaffer":112y88qa said:
You can use my quote, no problem.
I'm using a Marshall JCM 2000 DSL whenever possible on tour and here in the studio as the power section. Seems to work very well together, and the DSL's are easy to get when we do festivals, etc..

Here's a picture my guitar tech took while I was working in the studio... you'll see what amps I use!!

Hope, that with quoting partially my correspondence with Jon this theme is finally cleared forever! Otherwise... :gethim:

What's the going price for the preamp, Larry?
There are 4 different prices for the preamp:

a) fully loaded w/ the FX loop for the Pure Bliss (Clean), w/ the 2-nd input on the rear panel (like the upper one on the photos) and supplied w/ NOS Tungsram/Tesla/Telefunken preamp tubes

b) the same as "a)", but supplied w/ TungSol reissue preamp tubes

c) the 'saving version' w/o the FX loop and w/o the 2-nd input (like the 2 lower ones on the photos), but supplied w/ NOS Tungsram/Tesla/Telefunken preamp tubes

d) the same as "c)", but supplied w/ TungSol reissue preamp tubes

PM or email me for price inquiries, 'cos I don't post prices on the web.

Can't say anything bad about that build quality, looks superb. Though, I'd like to see what's behind the digital masking for the Punch and Bite controls... ;)
