Mark used the Mercury PT for the 560V B+ voltage. Patrick at MM has the facilities to make these custom winds to order for builders. I am sure some others can build them. The OT is probably a 100 watt Dagnal clone.

Todd mentioned a CCV with Marshall transformers - that would be one of Mark's two channel (dual gain/clipping/solo master) Jose designs (not all were set up this way) that was the precursor to the CCV. I've got one of them.

Steve
I have a HG Jose too and it kills. Would love to hear the CCV with those Trannys. Wasn't Suhr doing Plexi tranny mods for a while?

Check your email, Todd....

Dip-Dab-Dob Painting Services. Have brush - will travel.

Is this what is meant when talking about "gooped"?
I think that goes beyond gooped...more like circuit board bukkake

To clarify a bit. The specs on the transformer are the same but we had to add 2 accessory winds for the midi board and dc heaters. The lay out of the first amp had many problems with noise and we don't want any of that anymore. Also the original transformers were off the shelf mercury mag jmp Marshall output transformer and a 67 45/100 power transformer nothing custom about them at all. Hope this helps a bit.

Dave, thanks for the clarification!!

The prototype has not even been built yet based on Georges update at the beginning of the month. I predict April or May!!

As i wrote january 2013, but I know what you mean. To be honest, it's not funny anymore how cameron customers were treated. Everyone is talking only the best about Brad, but I can't see that, at least in the whole Cameron CCV project. It seems they working on a new NASA project :)

If delivery in april or may is true I will presumably ask for money back an cancel my order. No amp is worth waiting that long ......

Would it be possible to get the deposits back, taking into account the uncertainty of when the amps will be ready for distribution?

This is just my prediction and nothing more. The way things have been going I would be surprised if it was that soon.      Brad is a good guy IMO, I just think the Cameron team did not do the best job with this project.

The guys that have sent Cameron Amps any money or paid in full have been way more than patient awaiting their amp. I would have filed a Paypal complaint or insisted that Brad return my money long ago. These are guitar amps not devices that will launch you into outer space - there is no good excuse for a delay this long.

Hm. If I had the scratch, I'd throw down for somebody's place in line in a heart beat.

I dunno, I am getting tired of waiting. The way things are going it will probably be six more months at least.

At least they are still using mercury transformers when they do get the design down, just ordered with extra taps. Maybe they could contact mark and nicely ask for his help in putting this amp together. I think others have volunteered to help build these at one point.

The road to hell is paved with good will.
Everyone wants to make the product better, but it just takes too long and customers suffer. I don't try to give advises, but put the second line together with the old specs and move the changes to the third run. Please communicate to your customers, even if it is bad news.

I don't post here a lot but wanted to jump in FWIW.

I couldn't blame anyone for wanting to move on after all this time, stress and heartache. With that said, if you want a CCV, these are the guys that can pull it off. As Mark found out, there is a big difference between modding a marshall and building a production amplifier. The repeatability is key. It takes a lot of work and prep time to establish that consistency. Dave and George are two of the coolest guys out their. They both have great ears and rediculous technical chops. Trust their decisions here, they will deliver a better product when all is said and done.

Having played an original CCV, it's a cool amp but really had some noise issues IMHO. Great design but could have been executed better....Dave and George will deliver.

If the old women at barrang could put them together then why can't the experts? I think that is the question guys have. I don't think noise was a problem with the original run, it was more with some of the barrang built with metro loop version. With that said, I am sure that the new run will be awesome and they have everyone's best interests in mind. The improvements should kick ass!

Let's hope the new run will kick ass!!

I've been wanting to pull the trigger on a CCV for over a year but the concerns outlined in this thread have prevented me from doing so.

It sounds like things are back on track but I'm still not clear how long I'd be looking at waiting to take delivery. Understanding it can't be exact (plus or minus a few weeks) are we talking 3 months, 6 months, a year?
