Finished her up this morning... Still a few things need to be done. A couple fuckups need fixing. Not 100% sure about the pickups... But holy fuck!!!! The neck on this thing is to die for! It rings like a mofo. The sustain is outrageous. Quite honestly the best feeling neck I've ever laid my hands on.

Here are some pics

I love it! There's one on eBay very similar to that (in appearance anyway.)

That's my idea of the perfect shredder guitar. Strat shaped body, single coil in the neck, bucker in the bridge, floyd rose, etc... I would have an oiled body, though. But yeah, awesome guitar!

I'm seriously considering putting one together just like this (even with the floyd), but with an oiled body.

If you want to oil the body, I'd seriously recommend Tru-Oil. It rules. EBMM, Charvel, Carvin all use it.

If you're going to put one together go with a tried-and-true design. Alot of people make things too custom then wonder why it sucks. :D

Also, if you're planning to put it together, be in for some frustration and alot of fuckups. Unless you're experienced in doing this stuff.

Agreed. There is smoethnig to a simple guitar.

Woundn't mind making a 1 humbucker-floyd guitar... :D

I thought you oiled the body? it was darker in that first pic you took before it was assembled

Yup.. it's oiled. I think it's just the lighting in the basement along with the camera flash. Those pics are what it actually looks like in person.

Wow..that's gotta sound great with the ebony board...I'd definitely want to oil it darker tho :D

That's a killer looking guitar! What pickups you put in it?

Looks nice! Mine will be a while because I went the nitro painted route, I'll post some picts when I'm done. I have another neck coming in on Monday, all maple, so I may do another single hum as well.

I got a single coil in there now and I really don't think I'm a single-coil guy! LOL! :D
It sounds ok but I can't get into it. I'll try a few different single-coils eventually... I'll probably end up with some kind of rail-styled single-humbucker thing...

Dude.. those Musikraft necks are awesome.

Thanks man!
I love it...

Duncan Custom and a Stew Mac Golden Age single coil.. Don't laugh, it's not a bad-sounding pickup! LOL! :D Especially for $38...

Very nice Vrad!

My body just went to paint, so i have to wait another 4-6 weeks :(

I tried many times, I just can't mix singles with hums, doesn't work for me and you WILL go nuts trying to find a single that you like with the hum.

Sounds like it man.. But that's ok. There are alot of different single-coil-sized pickups to try.
I'd like to try the Cruiser and Cool Rails.

Sweet! Were did you get the "Charvel" decal?

I made it... Printed it out. It's not really a decal, it's a sticker. I'll make a decal eventually. I've been looking for water-transfer paper.

It's gonna be tough... I was chomping at the bit to get odds and end screws and stuff!! LOL :D

For distortion I love the hotrails in the neck.

That's in the running... THe Custom is freaking HOT!! I'm not sure I like it or not yet, certain things I like about it, other things I don't. But it could be that I need to adjust it's height. I'm still setting it up. Usually takes me weeks to set up a guitar! LOL! :D

You looking for a humbucking, but sounds like a single coil? IMO it's hard to be a Dimarzio Area '58 for that. I could never get enough "spank" out of any of the Duncan's.

I got a 50's style Fender decal off e-bay a few years ago that looked exact but can't seem to find a Charvel decal  I have a Warmoth alder body oil finished strat very similar to your's, great guitars. The funny thing is they play and sound better then a true Fender (not including the custom shop or vintage ones).
