Could this pass for some sort of modern art?

HAHA - that probably could be modern art.

Man! Will after seeing the last guitar you built I'm dying to see how this is going to turn out!

It's all coming together pretty quick!

Damn I'm stoked to get this thing

It's actually coming together pretty slow, haha. Everybody at my house has been battling the flu for the past couple of weeks and I've been dragging pretty bad. I'm hoping I can start speeding things up real soon!

Ugh that blows man... I hate being sick especially when everyone keeps giving it to each other! It'll get done soon enough.

The top remachined after gluing:

You'll notice I also removed a chunk for a headstock cap:

And sawed off this little slice:

Quick little set-up I use for thicknessing small stuff like this headstock cap:

Marking up this neck blank, should be shaping it up this weekend:

Bandsawing the neck profile:

Bandsawing the fretboard taper:

Neck profile fully machined and headstock "ears" glued on:

About to glue some mohogany scraps to this neck offcut, which will later become a rear cavity cover:

After truing up the neck taper and machining a little shelf for the top:

The top cut to a rough shape and fit over the end of the neck. Starting to get exciting now!

wow, that thing is shaping up to look amazing. Nice work man.

Fantasic work, still cannot believe you are not using a fence.

Thanks guys.

And all I can say about a fence is that sometimes my hand is steadier than my bandsaw blade!

Dude will... All I can say is omfg that looks amazing!!!!!!

Finished shaping up the fretboard and adding inlays/dots:

Also got the board glued on today:

Should be fretting and then carving the neck over the next couple of days, and then assembling the body wings & top.

After sanding & polishing the fretboard:

Getting prepared for fretting. This board has no binding, but I still like to remove the fret tangs, I don't want those bastards to ever start poking out of there.
