That's just amazing! Nice work and thanks for sharing

I look forward to having you build my guitar I am just trying to get the funds together still. We spoke a few times on the JCF after I saw your first build.

Testing out my dye mixture.

This is an offcut from the top, although the figuring on the top itself is bolder and more consistent. This gives me a good feeling about the color.

I'll probably spray some lacquer on this piece later just to get a better idea.

Will man, you've gotta be as antsy as me to get this thing done... I think it's going to look simply stunning!!!

That stain is just liquefied sex poured onto a piece of wood...

I shot a couple of heavy coats of lacquer on this test piece just for the hell of it.

I'm going to punch Kentucky's weather soon if it doesn't cool off!!!

This guitar looks so nice...superb work so far...wow, what a skill! I couldn't even make an ash tray straight in woodshop

Me too. It's so damn humid it's like a sauna.

I'm going to do some tests with plenty of retarder in the mix and see how things turn out in this humidity. I have a feeling I may be waiting a few more days though. Weatherman is calling for these conditions the rest of the week....

That guitar looks VERY good! I'm really looking forward to seeing this beast done!

First time I have read this thread....very cool to see all the steps up to this point. Looks like a killer guitar for sure. All that hand work is amazing.

Yea man Will is doing a killer job on this thing. I think in due time he's going to have quite an order list lined up!

Will, the guitar looks fantastic! Awesome hand craftsmanship! And what a great thread, too! You deserve a waiting list.

And Dallas I must say, this guitar through the Einstein is gonna be SICK!!!

Hey Glory,

This thing will KILL through the Ein... unfortuantly it looks like I may have to ship it off to get whatever the problem is fixed, Peter didn't have anything to say other than to call Terry so it must not be good news :(

On a positive note this guitar is going to freggin rip man I don't think he put the info up here but were using WCR Darkbursts and a Mannmade (the company that used to make the PRS bridges when they were all one piece of metal) tremolo, so the bridge is literally identical to an original PRS bridge not the new multiple piece made in who knows where ones like on my Singlecut so I'm dying to hear it!

Thanks for giving Will compliments too, his work is unrealllll I just can't get over his level of hand craftsmanship!

Can't wait to get it!

Dallas

I'm getting pretty annoyed waiting for the weather to straighten up around here so I can finish this thing. The heat and humidity are way higher than normal, and constant rain for the last couple weeks.

In the meantime, I figured I'd put up a couple pics of the stained top. Weather is not permitting any natural light, so these lackluster pics under the shop lights are the best I can do.
These were taken before sanding a little roundover onto the natural binding.

Dude Will, looks freggin killer man... how aggravating is the fact that you can't pop the finish on this thing... I know as much as I'm jonsing for it you must be irritated waiting to spray the nitro, plus there's 2 weeks to cure before it can even dry!

Love that, headstock looks awesome, the finish looks great, love the body shape

Kentucky weather, I officially calling you out to a cage match, you and me bitch it's fightin time. :gethim: :gethim: :gethim:
