Dallas, we're supposed to get a break down into the mid 80's and lower humidity early next week. Right now I'm planning to try and do all the spraying in that little window.

looks awesome

though you need some up close fret shots. where as most guys like looking at the figured maple, I like to see up close shots of the frets myself

Hey Will,

Sounds good to me man. The weather has been some what normalizing down here, it's back to at least raining a bit instead of the 100 degree no rain days!

Looking forward to it man!

Finally got some decent weather this week and the finish is underway;

After a couple coats of sealer:

Sickkk looking killer man... can't wait to see how that buffs out!!! Hopefully I'll get it by the end of July!

I just found this post, just incredible!! Great job keeping up with all the pics for us!!

I can't wait to see this beauty finished. Looks incredible!

I talked to will last week and he said it's real close, after he put the finish on you have to wait about 2 weeks for it to fully dry and cure before you can buff it to a finish. That will be done shortly, this week I believe, and then it's all about the hardware :)

I'm getting pretty annoyed waiting for the weather to straighten up around here so I can finish this thing. The heat and humidity are way higher than normal, and constant rain for the last couple weeks.

In the meantime, I figured I'd put up a couple pics of the stained top. Weather is not permitting any natural light, so these lackluster pics under the shop lights are the best I can do.
These were taken before sanding a little roundover onto the natural binding.

SHAZAM!!!!

Outstanding carve without any cnc equipment  ;)

Thanks guys!

Yeah, I'm giving it some time for the finish to cure so it will be ready for buffing.
I should be to that in around a week, maybe less.

Well, I've waited a good while for that lacquer to harden and this thing is ready to start wetsanding / buffing tomorrow.

Here's a quick mock-up shot with the hardware before any polishing:
